A colleague of mine has been feeding a couple of stray cats for a while. Thinks but isn't certain that they belonged to a neighbour who has thrown them out. She's ok to keep doing this for a while so they don't need to come into rescue, but we're wondering if any of the local rescues might be able to help with advertising and re-homing.
Unfortunately I live miles from where I work so the rescues I work with wouldn't really be suitable for advertising them.

Your friend will need to contact rescues in the area, and will need to ask to get them on a waiting list if they're full. However, she will need to ensure the cats definitely don't belong to anyone first:

I think you mis-read my post janeyk. We're not asking for a rescue to put them on a waiting list and take them in. All I was asking was whether anyone knew of rescues who would advertise cats for direct rehoming. Sure we could ring round but I have a full time job, a long commute and 6 foster cats already. If someone knew who might be able to help it could save some time.

I'll pop them on our Cat Chat page and facebook but we're north of the region covering the Bolsover area. pm me details if you like. I'll need a contact number to go on the page as the shelter peeps are run off their feet :-)
