I'd like to introduce you all to Chi Chi who was collected by Paul and I yesterday evening in a bid to save her from being bounced around the freeads for the next few months and ending up lord only knows where.
She is a very shy 12 year old exotic who is feeling very very lost. Her owner died and the cat went to live with a relative who cannot keep her as she is moving away. As a result little Chi Chi has found herself looking for somewhere else, yet again, to stay.
She is a complete sweetheart but is very scared and needing lots of reassurance at the moment but we are sure that over the next few days she will begin to settle and find her feet. Our heart goes out to this little one but at least we know she is safe and loved with us and we will make sure we do the best by her for a new home. :Luv2:
Sorry about the pic but I got it on my phone last night. Don't want to freak her out any more today with a camera flash so will get some more piccies once she has settled a little more.
-
Ahhhhhh, bless her -she is just gorgeous :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2:
Poor little soul, hope she settles and gains her confidence -she deserves a loving home - wish i could take her !
-
awww the poor little love :( so glad that you'ver rescued her. I'm sure you'll find her the special loving home she needs :Luv:
-
that we will in time. she is very scared just now bless her but she is eating well and resting. We dread to think what may have happened to her if we had not got her as she was advertised as free to good home.
will get some better piccies once she settled a little more :)
-
ahhh the poor little darling .... she will be a bit shell shocked from losing her slave and then her replacement home and as she is an exotic she will naturally be quiet sensitive. I'm ure with a bit of TLC she will come round though   She looks like a real beauty :Luv2:
-
aaawwwwww bless her. sending lovely new home vibes :Luv:
-
i love exotics!! bless her, hope she finds a lovely new home soon
-
So glad she is with you and Paul where she will be made to feel all wanted and loved again - her colour would suit your crew Sarah!
-
Aw she is beautiful, hope she wont be waiting long for her forever home bless! :Luv2:
-
her colour would suit your crew Sarah!
probably me being really slow.... or are you tryingto tell me its the one colour of kitty we DON'T have living with us permanently! ;)
-
She is beautiful and looks so lost and scared bless her :Luv:
hope she soon finds that forever home :Luv2:
-
well the good news is that tonight li'l miss chi chi actually let me speak to her without hissing at me. Progress!! ;)
She allowed me to give her big ear rubs n strokes and even let out a wee trilly purr for me, was so pleased as she was so miserable yesterday. :)
We are starting to wonder if the story we were given is even the truth after we had a fone call tonite from the lady who handed her over. :tired:
We had been told the aunt (owner) had died and the neice had taken chi chi on but couldn't keep her. On probing her tonite for info I gleane that said 'aunt' is still around and the neice had her 5 years!!
In that time chi chi has not seen a vet for checkups, vacc's etc, as far as we are led to believe, so does make us wonder if the reasons for giving her up are even true! There again lady didn't know (seemingly) that cats needed to go to vet for check ups but also thought chi chi was a long haired persian! <sigh>
At least now that she is settling and getting decent food into her we can improve her general condition and well being and get her coat back to beautiful and soft as it is very dry just now and her skin itchy from a flea allergy reaction.
hopefully she will settle more over the next few days and her character will start to show. Then, when less stressed we can see about a vet check for this wee star :Luv2:
-
Poor little soul, glad she is coming round :Luv2: :Luv2: Glad you have taken her in - thankyou to you and all rescues on here
What is she like with other cats ?
There are some people who should never have took breath on this earth !
-
well I suppose she cared enough to call and we got a bit more 'truth' this time! :tired:
From what I can gather she has been on her own to date BC so not sure. Also she is so unsettled at the moment she is scared of everything. I should know more as the next week unfolds for her.
I love exotics and their characters.... this wee angel just deserves so much more!
-
:( she must be feeling so lost right now poor little love but thankfully she's now in a good place
-
She is absolutely stunning! If I had more space and was working I would offer her a home in a heartbeat (I'm rather good with the shy ones).
But she is in the best possible hands and I'm sure her perfect forever home will come along when the time is right :Luv:
-
wee update on Chi Chi :Luv:
She has come round wonderfully now and is such a sweet affectionate little girl, definitely doesn't like rough though has to be gentle strokes! lol ;)
She loves to be called 'beautiful girl' and you can see her eyes light up and her wee purr starts to kick in. She really is SUCH a sweetheart.
She's settled down really well and the other cats don't bother her anymore so all her aggresive growling has stopped and she is much more content.
As soon as you walk in the big eyes follow you round and she will sit by the door waiting on you opening it for a wee pett and a cuddle.
This little sweetie really does deserve a wonderful home and I have to admit I love her to bits, but then I do have a soft spot for exotics! :Luv2:
-
:) really pleased she's settling down more now, bless her
-
'beautiful girl'
Great that she is coming round - she is probably beginning to realise she has landed in the right place :)
I always call Alice beautiful girl and she seems to respond to it as well. When I got her, I read somewhere that there is something about using the word beautiful that can help cats. I am a complete cynic but maybe there is something in the sound of the word that they like :shy:
-
My girls react to "Beautiful girl in all the world" they go all gooey for it! :Luv2:
Oh my god!!! Just realised it is worse than that.....Its "Beautiful baby girl in all the baby world" then you have to say "Baby, baby, baby, baby baby"! :-[ :innocent:
-
I wind OH up when he says to Alice "Who's my beautiful girl" or similar, I say in Alice's voice "Kylie is - I'm just a funny face" - OH says, "Don't say things like that, you will hurt her feelings and gives her a cuddle whispering in her ear how gorgeous she is" :evillaugh:
-
Chilli couldn't care less what you say to her really, just as long as you rub her chin and give her the sleepy eyes. She knows she's gorgeous :evillaugh:
Dave on the other hand loves to be told he's my gorgeous little man and a handsome boy and will give you a kiss when you ask for one :Luv2:
-
give you a kiss when you ask for one :Luv2:
Willow does that :evillaugh:
OH says something that sounds like bizou (apparently French for kiss?) to her and gets a big sloppy kiss - she even treats you to a smelly gum rub  - she loves rubbing her gums against stubble :evillaugh:
-
Oh I'm not so cultured, I just say, in my best just for the cats voice, "gis a kiss"(he is a c**kney cat after all) and he thrusts his head at me or rubs his mouth along my nose for some reason, which is a bit gross but very sweet at the same time!
-
this thread has gone very :yuk: all of a sudden
-
Our Penny would give a kiss :) but I've just told Byron she was beautiful and she looked at me as if to say 'yeah, tell me something new' :evillaugh:
-
Kylie doesn't do kissing but she does like a cuddle :Luv2: when I fuss her, she always puts a front leg over my arm. Whether it is affection or just to hold me in position, I have no idea :evillaugh:
Clapton likes to give washes - especially on the forehead which can be a bit uncomfortable :Luv2:
-
Wait till Sarah sees this thread....She is gonna go madkitty I bet!! :evillaugh:
-
 I must've used the key word... beautiful... seems it has an effort on Purrs too not just with Chi Chi! ;) ;)
-
wee update pics from our wee chi chi that we took on Xmas day
chi is doing much better and very much loves attention, petting and treats are a definite favourite. she will make someone a very special little companion. We are however getting a little concerned about her water intake and so will be getting this checked out shortly.
For the meantime she is a great little cat :Luv2: and we hope you enjoy these piccies that show how content she is at the moment.

Well I have great news for you all re Chi Chi we took her to her new home last night and she settled in in seconds!
So wish we had the camera with us as she was SOOO funny and just made it her home right away. Within minutes she was eating, investigating the litter tray and after half an hour was trying to pry open the sitting room door to get out and explore! lol She is SO much a different cat to the little terrified wee girl that came in who hid under the sofa! :)

Wonderful ;D

Great news! I'll move this now ;D
