She's gorgeous- very pretty and I'm please she is getting a bit better. I really do think a once over at the vets to find out what's causeing her tummy troubles could really help. It may be something that can be sorted quickly to avoid problems in later life. It's horrid for them when they have dogy tums (and us!

) so the vet will definitely be able to help.

Hi Lisa

It sounds like the little one has a good home with you.

Has she seen a vet? I always take my kittens to be registered with my vet and have a checkup. How far is she thorugh her course of innoculations?

I has the same probem with Mitzi, a Siamese/Bengal cross kitten, when I got her. If I were you I would:

1. Monitor her progress by weighing her. I used to use elecronic kitchen scales because they allow you to measure grams or ounces.

2. Find a good quality kitten food that seems to suit her and stick to it, not even changing the variety, for a couple of months.

3. Lacto B would be a good idea as it would repopulate her gut with 'good' bacteria that have been killed by the antibiotics. Other possibilities are to go to a vet and get Pro-Kaolin. Another alternative is goats milk live yoghurt (not cows milk yogurt). This is available in he UK in at least two of the big supermarkets.

I'd give up on the idea of registering her if I were you.

I have only started to feed grain free lately. Mine are now on Orijen dried (they prefer the 6fish but it is very rich) with a small feed of Applaws canned in the evenings. However, Mitzi's problem was solved feeding her Hills kitten pouches (Ocean Fish variety), which wouold not have been mine first choice but it worked!

She is alot more solid than she was when we first got her , at first she was like water , we have took her off the meds the breeder was giving her as they were out of shelf life , She is now eating , which she wasnt before and she is drinking loads of cooled boiled water and she weighs 2 pound . She runs around playing all the time and seems very content now , but do i know what you are saying about the money side of it , I did think that myself at first but the breeder was in tears when she left my home as she said she just wants a loving home for her and someone who will give her the care she needs , her being passed from home to home was not good for her and maybe added to potia's problems as stress doesn't help does it?
My other cat rosie is perfectly fine tho , not eating as much as she did before we got portia but i think that is because she has never been around another cat before and needs to get used to her being around , Her poo is solid and i have been keeping a very close eye on her for any signs of illness .

The more I think about this the stranger it seems, have you taken the little one to the vet at all ?, it seems strange to me for a breeder to give a pedigree kitten away for nothing just because it has the squits, but then again maybe I am being a bit harsh. I dont want to panic you or anything but the breeder could have sold the kitten for over £200 but she gave her away to you for nothing. I would definitely take her to the vets and explain what has happened, it is quite damaging for a kitten to have the sqits for so long as they dehydrate at enormous speed (within a day !) you also have to consider your other cat that I see in the pictures, I am no expert on cat illnesses but could it be catching ?

Have you tried Lacto B to help their tums...............I swear by it now cos half a scoop in frantas food does the trick when his probs return.......he had very powerful abs and it sorted him out in a few days although his tummy a little week now

Sounds like a rubbish breeder to me - Mine wouldn't let me have my Birmans until they were 13 weeks - and she phoned me to make sure they went for all their jabs.

At least your little one has a fantastic forever home with you!

Her tummy problems could also be diet related - maybe try a grain free diet and some raw meat (Gillian is the expert on raw feeding) I know this is hard to believe but with one of my Bengals tap water gives her the runs so they are all on bottled/filtered water.

I am sure that with your TLC she will get better, at least now she can have some stability and settle down properly in her forever home.

Both Mum and Dad cat have to be registered for you to register your kitten, for kittens that are eligable for registration the breeder has to register the whole litter and then gets paperwork back for each kitten, when sold they pass a pink slip for GCCF (its Blue for Tica) to the new owner so that ownership and registration can be transferred. You should have paid less for your kitten in the circumstances.

just looked at the pedigree papers again and the fathers registered but the mother isnt , does this affect my kitty ????
