Hi Everyone, Happy New Year to all.
Been wondering if anyone else has found that there is a shortage of catnip in PAH or other shops...
Usually there is a choice in PAH but back to November my branch didn't have any or any since. Trotted off to other pet supplies but they didn't have any either.
Managed to order some here on Purrs but wanted the Canadian Buds which are not due in till April I believe. Boo Hoo!
My cats neeeeeeeeeed it to keep ME sane.
Have you had the same prob?

Have a look on ebay as there seems to be catnip sellers with stock on there. I wonder if the pants weather has affected catnip crops like it has wheat/potato crops etc!
-
I do hope not :scared:
I'm liable to have a riot on my hands if there is!
-
I will have to dig out my seeds and grow some :shify: :shify:

Yes I have grown it too Gill but didn't harvest it all. Might have to resort to Valarian drops. They like that too.
-
Mine did and Sasa loved her sucky socks and also got loads of seeds but know Misa got at them in the greenhouse!
-
grew plenty here but unfortunately neighbourhood cats got their mitts on it all before Jaffa did :shify: died off now but some new shoots appearing.
-
That's the problem Susanne, as soon as spring arrives & new shoots start growing the cats eat it! Little devils!
When growing yours have you found it better in the sun or in the shade. Dry or wet soil?
-
It's just stuck in a pot out the front where it gets a bit of sun but is also shaded by a large horse chestnut tree for much of the day. I put an upturned platic hanging basket over the top of the pot now so that it grows through the holes - that way if cats come for a nibble they can have some but won't decimate the plant. works great when the squirrels refrain from knocking off the baskets :shify:

What a good idea....
