The rumour in the cake shop yesterday was that indeed "Mildew" had been spotted in posession of a large bag of jam doughnuts. We fear it may be following us around this year, making random visits to various events.

Fancy being stalked by a green fluffy moggy, waving food items!

It also had fun playing with some very interestingly-shaped balloons. However, it developed a bad case of camera shyness when asked to pose. Perhaps next time . . . And as for the snake, cannot possibly repeat some of the conversations that resulted  :-[

Mlldew the Moggy (my name nothing's being finalised yet!) was indeed tempted in briefly by the lure of cakes though having been seen earlier munching 'his' way through a bag of doughnuts it must be said that it was only a mild interest.

Figures in from Glen the Coventry RSPCA manager are

Chipping
Dogs – Male = 15 Female = 17
Rabbits – Female – 1
Cats – Female – 24 Male – 24

Total 81

Neutering
Dogs – 5
Bitches – 4
Rabbit Does 2

figures from Yvonne CP 39 vouchers - 15 girls and 24 boys- with some customers being so fired up we heard that vets had already been contacted to book ops during the afternoon.

We even managed to raise some funds to cover the hire of the hall and a microchip for one of our cats.

A bit of excitement on the day, was someone brought in a (in my eyes very lovely) yellow and white snake. Unfortunately he choose to take it out of the bag at the moment Glen was quite close to him and it sent him scurrying into the microchipping room almost followed by Judith and one of the RSPCA volunteers. I have to say Judith did very well and the volunteer did manage to stay in the room but had to stand to the wall with her eyes closed.

I hear from Judith that the cat in question has made an appearence today, hanging around the library. Going to try luring her with cake and more cake in a mo, to see if I can get another look.

Watch this space . . .

Have just had the tip-off the cat in question is going to find its photo in the local paper this weekend! We might be edging closer to finding out just where and when it will next make an appearence. Have other local charities on the case too as we really do need to do something before it make another showing!

I think you could call the cat (Lou) after Lou Ferrigno (the original actor from the Incredible Hulk TV show - he was huge, green and scarey too)  >:( ;)

Think this one needs to be trapped and neutered ASAP  :evillaugh: :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Fair play though - green fur can be really itchy, even in sub-zero temperatures  ;D :)

The green cat certainly did scare a few kids, who ran for the hills screaming and crying.

Judith and I were innocently shopping yesterday, when look what we bumped into  :shify: She seemed to be a stray, adult female (not a real youngster, we think)  :sneaky: hanging around looking hungry. We found we could tempt her with chips to follow us, and so the following meal was tried.

She didnt fancy the sausage, muttering something about being veggie, but eyed the chips up with envy. Was seen in the area for about 2 hours and then disappeared. Perhaps she will appear again soon.

All in a good cause Angie
