Sorry, Beth, I didn't realise you had any confusion over the matter! We've always known she was a girlie, but you're right - she is VERY boyish. Very boyish indeed.

For fluffy cats you can blow the fur apart, that can help alot. Also wet some cotton wool and dab round the area to de fluff the fur, gives you a better idea also :)

Byron's owners obviously had the same problem, when we adopted her we were told that her owner's had given her the boy's name and her brother got the girls  :evillaugh: when they found out they just left their names at that.

My bro-in-law was given two kittens as they were unwanted  >:(
Thankfully they have gone to a loving home, and Dan (bro-in-law) loves all animals.
Both babies went for their kitten jabs and check ups and were 100% healthy, so Dan booked them in to be neutered, he was told, and thought that they were brothers, and in their check ups the vet never corrected him!
The morning of being "done" they were being checked over "pre op" by the vet (same vet as before) who asked Dan if he realised that they were brother and sister!!! not brothers!!!    :wow:
Neadless to say Marley and Moshi are all recovered and loving life with Dan and his Girlfriend!!!   :briggin:

difficult I think and I'm sorry I refuse to have more than a quick peek  :-:

I think tabbies are the easiest colour to sex, cos they tend to have a black outline round bits - we could tell Sam wasnt a girl from a distance when he lifted his tail up, easiest sexing I have ever done!!
Please spay your cat

When I first looked at those piccies Philip I thought ...great that looks easy enough and would be nice to know for definite about Ruby before vet on Monday ....but being black makes it more difficult I think and I'm sorry I refuse to have more than a quick peek  :-:

I also think cats look feminine or masculine, well most of them do. But there have been times when I have come across a very feminine male cat  :evillaugh: never a masculine female though.

I agree! Byron does not look like a boy no way nor did our Penny, very delicate both of them and definitely been able to tell the boys although Schui used to trotwalk in a very prim way like a dressage horse  :evillaugh:

An ex housemate had a cat called Charlie, and I was pretty embarrassed when I got a call from the vet asking me if I'd mind them doing a neuter rather than a spay seeing as he didn't have the right equipment for a spay! Charlie was dubbed "Camp Cat" by my partner and myself after that!

Well this is the thing, if she is in fact a she, she is such a tomboy, bold as brass, very chunky, does the tail swishing thing when you stroke her that i've always thought of as tom behaviour, even lazy when it comes to using the litter tray, walks in there, wees, and walks out again, none of the ladylike digging and covering it up. Ginny is such a lady so delicate and dainty there's no mistaking she's a girly.

When I got Bob, his name was Deena. I changed it to Bobcat so people knew he was a boy - between a dainty wee head, long hair and a squeaky voice, everyone assumed he was a girl - and he was modest in his demeanour as well. I felt Bob was a nice blokey name  ;)

Gizzy was rather 'well endowed' before his trip to the vets and has a rather flucffy rear end and when my sister came to visit she took one look and said

" Well that brings a whole new meaning to furballs" :evillaugh:

My daughter had her first cat (Little kitten Lucky) she was aged about 3.  She was fascinated with his "bits"  "Why has Lucky got a little worm ?" That was his "lipstick"  which apeared when he had a good wash  She also wanted to know why kittens tongues were made of ham!!!

When Lucky went off to the vet for his "little operation" she was very interested on his return that bits were missing.  She used to make up little songs and I was very amused to hear her singing to herself

"Lucky went to the vets and now he smells funny!  And I dont like it And - if you look - Lucky has got no balls - Hee!Hee!" Kids miss nothing!!

Well, let me tell you, they may do away with the, erm, "earring" parts :-[ But when Dave is sucking on his favourite blanket, and pardon the expression here, my friend made it up, his "pink lipstick" sometimes makes an appearance so he is definitely all man :-[

 I must admit i've never tried to look closely - but he's missing teeth and half an ear, so maybe thats another bit my boy lost!!!

Try my Mums baby-sexing theory
Pink bootees  -girls, blue bootees - boys  :naughty:

 well she did have pink tootsies, from playing with a red toy with loose dye when she arrived. :evillaugh:

Try from this.

 ;)

From that photo she definitely looks more like a girl, as it has the same fluffy bits that Penguin does, so perhaps it's just the fluff which makes her look different from Ginny.

I've been trying to get a pic but sods law when i'm trying to get a photo of her bum she's turning around and posing beautifully :innocent: yet the number of times i try to get nice pics and end up with a tail shot. :naughty:

The more Penguin grows the more "her" bits don't look like Ginny's :shify: tis difficult for me to tell 'cos i am a bit of a novice, and Penguin is much fluffier than Ginny, but if i were to take a photo of the less attractive end of Penguin could anyone tell me what they think? :shy:

She's off for a jab/chip next week anyway, so i'll ask the vet but it'd be nice to stop pondering in the mean time... :shify:
