She really considers me her mother, she lost hers when she was only 6 weeks old, so she really needed someone to mother her. And I love it when she snuggles up to me like that, even if it means she wakes me up in the middle of the night.....

Xena came walking out of the shrubs at a camp site when she was 6 weeks old. Mother was nowhere to be found, so the Cat Care Society, a local rescue organisation in Dordrecht, was called in. Peter, one of their volunteers (and a moderator at my cat forum), took her in.


He published some pics of her on the forum and I fell in love with her straightaway.

My first meeting with the warrior princess


Simply irresistable




She came home to us on Christmas day 2009




Even the Italian Stallion fell for her, hook, line and sinker...


Auntie Josephine shares her food with the baby girl.




She grew up so quickly


But she remains very naughty


September 2010, 1 year old and still suckling like a kitten




Figuring out the workings of a cat flap


I am a big girl, now, and I come and go as I like


but I still love to snuggle up to meowmy
