Check this article in the New York Times website about the dangers of hidden GPS info in photos you take - What the Internet Can See From Your Cat Pictures (http://www.nytimes.com/2014/07/23/upshot/what-the-internet-can-see-from-your-cat-pictures.html).
In a nutshell, if you take photos of your cat with a smart-phone that has geo-tagging turned on and post them online, strangers can learn where you live by looking at the hidden GPS info in the photos. You can turn off geo-tagging (http://icanstalku.com/how.php), or remove GPS info from photos (http://www.digitalconfidence.com/downloads.html) before you post them online.

It's a sign of the times we live in that our every move is monitored, CCTV, phone calls texts etc. It is a good idea to torn off gps tagging on your phone if you post pics online as you never know how that info could be used by the criminal fraternity
