Hills Prescription Diet Feline C/D for the Nutritional Management of Pets with Struvite Related Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD).

FLUTD is a condition often associated with the formation of crystals in the urinary tract that can cause numerous painful symptoms for your cat. The two most common types of crystals that form in the cat`s urinary tract: struvite and oxalate

Prescription Diet Feline C/D has been formulated to provide nutritional management of cats with struvite-related FLUTD. Struvite crystals are usually formed in response to urine that is saturated with magnesium, ammonium and phosphorus combined with an alkaline urinary pH.

Indications:
Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD)Struvite crystals and uroliths, prevention of occurrence or recurrenceIdiopathic FLUTD in adult cats (use Feline c/d canned)

Key Benefits:
Magnesium Phosphorus Protein - Reduced - Decreases urinary concentration of struvite constituents, magnesium, ammonium (from protein), phosphate.
Sodium - Controlled - Limits progressive loss of renal function.
Target urinary pH Acid: pH 6.2-6.4 - Discourages the formation and aggregation of struvite crystals
Water - Increased in wet formulas - Increases urine volume, which dilutes struvite constituents. Lowers urinary specific gravity, to reduce recurrence of idiopathic
FLUTD Superior antioxidant formula - Added Reduces harmful free radicals to help combat urolithiasis.

Ingredients:
Ground rice, chicken and turkey meal, maize gluten meal, ground maize, animal fat, digest, potassium chloride, calcium carbonate, salt, taurine, calcium sulphate, vitamins and trace elements. Contains EU approved antioxidant.

Warning:
Not recommended for Kittens, Pregnant or lactating queens, Cats concurrently receiving urinary acidifiers or Cats with non-struvite urolithiasis or crystalluria.

It is recommended you seek the advice of your veterinary surgeon before feeding your animal this diet.
