:welcome: to Purrs! Oh my you have a beautiful bunch of kitties there. I just want to smoosh them all. :-)

Oh and the more pics the better :-D

They would love those smooshes! They are the friendliest cats I've ever met and will happily suffer face smooshes, squeezes, tummy tickles, paw rubs and any other hassle my OH decides to give them!
Thank you for the welcome :D

Thank you! ;D
Archie somehow always manages to have an innocently clueless look on his face, always politely curious :Luv:
I'm like you and have a soft spot for gingers. Always wanted a ginger boy and when my breeder friend had a litter and there was a ginger boy with white, my heart was taken. He's now been registered as HumptheLump as he's an absolute monstrosity :Luv:
Loving the forum already, seems to be a really lovely place!
-
:evillaugh: :evillaugh: I know just what you mean. Our youngest, Moray, has more than a nod to the Maine Coon in his genes and is shaping up to be a big cat, with a softie nature and a streak of mischief a mile wide. :Luv: I'm not surprised your heart was a goner! ;)
Keep the piccies coming. All of your boys are just wonderful :wow:
-
Well, so much for Archie being innocent! He's been an absolute nightmare this morning, winding Ben and Jerry up, chasing them round the house and squeaking when they batter him back! During one of these many chases, he's managed to knock over two of their three water bowls and soaked the floor and a box with water. >:(
-
  When Humph comes home, Archie will love having him as a younger playmate to boss about :Luv:
-
For about a month or two and then Humph will completely outgrow him and the roles will be reversed
-
Moray's been the boss from the word go, notwithstanding he was the youngest, and the smallest. He's now put on a growth spurt and at 7 months' old is on a par with his 20 month old bruvver ;)
Tinks ran away when we first brought Moray home - he'd been bestest mates with Ross, who we lost to a road traffic accident in September, and he couldnt understand why this skinny little long haired thing had taken Ross's place. He was desperately upset. Having said that, Tinks originally didnt belong to us - he was a neighbours' cat, but he was such good mates with Ross that he ended up coming to live with us after a somewhat difficult winter. Losing Ross affected him every bit as much as it did us.
I give all of the credit to Moray for exercising restraint and patience beyond his tender age for winning Tinks round. It was as if he knew he had to court Tinks' affections very carefully, or he'd be out. And that's exactly what he set out to do. Now, he just bashes and biffs Tinks, and chases him up and down the stairsa and in and out of the duvet :evillaugh: but it's all very good natured, and Tinks loves his little bro very much.
I feel as excited as you must be, thinking about Humph joining your home! ;D You have so much fun to look forward to. :)
-
Excited and nervous really, as we have a baby due in June so it's all go in the house!!
-
Blimey - you're keen! :evillaugh:
-
Keen or absolutely stupid, one or the other!

Keen or absolutely stupid, one or the other!
Quite possibly both in equal measures!
When I was young I always wanted a ginger cat who I would call 'Chivers' (after the brand of marmalade). My adored Chivvy left us 3 years ago, having given 19 years of love.
-
Ohh that's lovely! I'm so sorry to hear your Chivvy left you but what a long life s/he had!
-
Chivvy had an argument with a car when he was 2. He lost a leg and broke his jaw in 2 places. I always thought he wouldn't make old bones as the extra stress on his other limbs might lead to early arthritis which would have been difficult for him to manage. He certainly proved me wrong - and his sister, 'Punky', lived for another year after Chivvy left us :) I hope that Humph turns out to have similar longevity.

A wholehearted "second" to that, for all of our beautiful babies. :Luv:

I would say that Chivvy won that particular argument then, cars never remain perfect through 19 years of life whereas a cat always does :Luv: Thank you for the well wishes for Humph.

And a wholehearted third here :Luv:

So Humph's breeder just sent me this. This is Humph and his litter mates getting a quick feed off Mum, who is a full pedigree 18-month old Maine Coon. What on earth have we let ourselves in for....

-
Oh believe me - hours and hours of fun-filled laughter - that's what you've let yourself in for! :evillaugh:
Humph's Mum and litter mates are just :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Aren't they just :Luv: I have been told I'm first on the list for Mum if she ever needs to be rehomed after retirement! ;D
-
Poor Mum having her babies, then having them taken away. I cried when my two had to be separated from their Mum and sister, it was heart breaking. If I had room I'd have kept them all.
-
I think it's more painful for the owner than the Mum though, I'm not sure cats have the same maternal feelings we do. Humph's grandmother is still with my breeder, as well as Humph's mum and aunt, and they don't really have much of a bond at all.
