They're just plastic/vinyl aren't they?  I would think they'd be ok outside temporarily.  Mosi is rough with his and its' stood up to it ok.

I love these tents - question: do any of you who have them already think they'd stand up to going outside, not long term but maybe just during the summer, as a little shelter area.

I would have thought so, like you say not long term but they'd definitely last a summer at least (that's if we ever get one  >:()  They are made of a light raincoat type material with the floor more the textutre of one of those Ikea blue bags!

Well, Lexy and her wonderful claw....have made nice little punch holes all over the tent I noticed this evening, but even better she has yanked the netting so hard with her claws she has ripped it a bit. So now I shall be sewing a tent..  :tired:  But I love my baby so will do that considering that she is resting comfortably in said tent this minute.  As you can see it is a home in a home.

Poor Lukey! Hope he's feeling better.

If there wasn't a safety warning somewhere with the tent, maybe you could contact IKEA about this, perhaps via their website, and point out this danger. May be worth suggesting they put a warning with the tent so that other kits don't get into trouble. A really bad knock on the head could be serious.

Give him a kiss for me.

IMPORTANT SAFETY ALERT

Do not, under any circumstances, place this tent up against a wall...  The boys were just playing the fastest game of chase known to man (they were barely visible to the naked eye  :evillaugh:).  Lukey was the poor unfortunate soul who was at the front, they went tearing into the tent at top speed and Lukey collided head first with the wall   :evillaugh:

Oh noooooo though, you've just given me another reason to have to go down in my teeny car, truck dodging, to that nightmare aka Ikea. What silly swedish name do they give the cat tent btw?  At the weekend, Swampy threw up all over the Brunkkrissla. Dat be a fleecy rug to you and moi :)

Great pics, Helen!  Love Riley's victory roar!  ;D

Do we sound like the kind of people who get fed up with cat pics?!

I think all our babies should get together and go off for a weeks camping expedition. It would give us all a well deserved break!

I can feel a trip to Ikea coming on.......think the kittens at the Inn and Minimopsical would LOVE one of these plus my babies too!

We don't have an ikea nearby. They are on ebay for £7.99 + £1.99 postage. Someone is even selling them for £9.75 + postage. I'm still tempted  :evillaugh:

OK, OK - I really don't like doing it but I feel like I've been badgered into it  :innocent:  Thanks Em for letting the boys share Fergus and Polly's thread :)

The boys camping trip pics...

Riley peeping into the tent (that'll be me inside with a camera then  :shy:)

The boys suckling from the whiskers

Tent completely crushed from them jumping on it  :innocent:

The fight sequence...

We have a winner - Riley's victory roar after claiming the tent  :evillaugh:

Helen, I think we need picture evidence of the gorgeous boys enjoying their tent!  ;D

Absolutely!  ;D

Mosi has had his for a while but the novelty hasn't worn off yet.  I often come home to find it the other side of the room!  He jumps on top of it (did the splits on it the other day! wish I'd had my camera handy), dives underneath it, plays inside it - the lot.  Even Jaffa likes it - I found him pouncing at it yesterday.

Looking forward to seeing some piccies of the boys having fun Helen  :wow:

I think it's the best £5 ever spent!!

I already have some but didn't wan't to hijack your thread and I think people are getting a bit sick of my 'Lucas just ate his tea - pics!' or 'Riley is asleep - pics!' type threads  :shy:  They love it though, it was definitely worth traipsing round Ikea at the weekend for (something I wouldn't normally do if you paid me )

Helen - WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS!!! I don't think any of us could ever get bored of lovely kitty piccies  :Luv: ?!!

Tut Helen!  Only one? Bet they're having a fab time in it!

I'm not stingy - honestly!  I like them to share toys so that they play together as I don't want them growing apart  :shy:  They give it the paws up, the peepy holes are very popular  ;D

I discovered the shadow of the tail at the back is what Lexy keeps hitting when she gets in there. Huge fun. The peepy holes are the best thing ever.

You're right Em. Best £5 spent. Easy clean, easy play and ages of entertainment bliss.
