Winnie is five years old. She is currently unspayed and is terrified of other cats; she is also scared of her small children so a home with someone with children eight or older is needed. Her every day life is based on trying to hide in cupboards or in any small space she can get into due to her nervousness. Her owner is rehoming her as a last resort as she has tried things but feels Winnie will never be happy in the current home environment.
She's on the main "big rescues" waiting list, but someone asked me to post her on here as they are worried that due to Winnies personality she won't be given a chance before they deem her unhomeable.
If you or anyone you know can help Winnie, please let me know.

:Luv: She is so lovely, hopefully in the right environment she will gain confidence fingers crossed for her xx
Is this urgent though JS, can't the owner keep her in a separate room where she feels secure until a rescue place is found also, any idea why she's unspayed?
-
She's urgent due to the concern about her being put with the rescue we don't name and not being given a chance. Have enquired about why she's unspayed and will update ASAP.
-
Spaying will help calm her down though totally appreciate other issues in the environment. Can't any of the "big rescues" do that in the interim? I'm sure Celia Hammond would do low cost if all else fails but appreciate there may be travel involved to get her to either of the centres. Surely CP would do a voucher in the interim?

Already sent the CP HQ info in an attempt to get Winnie spayed,as well as the article on mammary cancer to try and get the urgency of the situation across.
Will keep you all updated.

Oh bless her :(

I live in London so have posted this on my (and on Ella and Effie's too) facebook. I hope I am not breaking any rules by doing that!! EEk!
I don't know whether it will help but as i am in London and so are most of my friends list. ll my friends on facebook are people I know (rather than randoms) so it would be a decent home.

Oohh Winnie is just beautiful and what a sad case, it sounds like her current family really care for her. :(
-
Any news?
-
Still looking to my knowledge. Winnie is too nervous for a home with other animals.
-
Newby here,i wonder how they know that she's terrified of other cats? Perhaps she had a bad experience outside with one being territorial? Has she had her eyes checked? I just love black cats(and tabby and...)lol
-
She lives with another cat, and they never see Winnie because she's so freaked out by him. :( (I think spaying her would help, but what do I know? ;))

Just seen the updates on Winnie.
If she is unspayed and living with a male cat, even if he is neutered, he could be pestering her and she is just trying to keep away from his unwanted affections. One of the other things that annoyed Marble (in addition to Soap) was Bourneville being a sex pest...even though they are all neutered!!!
I know your trying to get the neutering point across and I'm guessing you've already suggested Feliway...if so, did they try it? This new stuff I got from the vets appears to be faster acting...could that be reccommended? Would they even try it or have they given up?

Tried suggesting it all again today....no response as yet. :tired:

Any update please?
-
Will find out and update.

Thanks :)

Sorry. Completely forgot! Winnies owner says she's improving slightly so is going to persevere and see if Winnie can be happy where she is.
I guess that's classed as sorted!

That's great news, I do hope all works out well :) thanks for the update.
