First thing this morning all 3 of my cats were sitting on the living room window i didnt think nothing of it, i sat down and then i heard something buzzing i got up and saw a bee patch was trying to catch it so i opened the window and the bee went.
Patch then walked of fine and started licking her feet ive noticed her 2 front paws are rather swollen, Any advice? Im not sure if i should take her to the vets or not?
She is still running and walking about fine, ive looked at her paws and cant see a sting and they dont seem to hurt as she just lays there letting you look :rofl:

Keep an eye on her, if they keep swelling and get hot and painful then the vet can give her a jab.

I'd take her just to be safe -
Zubin was stung in the mouth by a wasp - poor lad - his little chin swelled up - he was at the vets within 20 minutes.

The mouth is more serious as it can block the airways.
Simon & Spike get fat legs for 24hrs and then it goes away, Spike had a huge lip from one once and looked like elvis :rofl:

My last cat got stung on the paw and the vet gave him an injection that really helped

Bees can only sting once and then they die and the sting gets left behind, so it sounds like its maybe a coincidence and there is another reason for swollen paws......if they dont improve by tomorrow its worth chatting to your vet at least.

quick update just so you all know, Later that noght her paws got even bigger and still didnt seem painfull so i left it till the next morning and they were down back to normall, Another bee came in the flat yesterday she heard it buzz and ran away :rofl:

Polo got himself stung on the lip today other than its a bit swollen he seems fine, any advice?

When I took Riley to the vet with his stung paw I asked about Piriton as CC's vet had recommended it to her. The vet said the dosage for an adult cat is 2mg which is half a Piriton. As long as his airways aren't affected I would say just keep an eye on him, the swelling will soon go down.

I have to tell my crew over and over and over again that bees do NOT want to play. That they have no sense of humour whatever and are best left alone. My crew listens intently and then ignores my advice totally. Sigh...
We have had many bee stings. They resolve themselves within a day or so. Even my long now passed but most beloved Brigit - she took one in the mouth. Whole side of her lovely face swelled up. But that too passed.
I also have been stung. And, no, I was not playing with the bees. They, apparently, just took my existence the wrong way. And I do not recover in a day! But I also don't hurt the bees. Have a hive in my eaves, actually. Have had for the past 18 years. And wasps too.
Guess we all just have to live together. Having said which.... I will continue to tell the kitties NOT to play with the bees. And they will continue to ignore me. And isn't that the way it's supposed to be (bee?).

Thanks the swelling is already going down and its not effecting him in any way he's eating and drinking just fine
