Dinah is 18 and shows no signs of slowing down, even though she has slightly dicky kidneys (there, I've just well and truly tempted fate haven't I

) but she's such an affectionate and fun little cat, and has a lot of experience so she can tell us exactly what she wants. People don't know what they're missing by passing over the older generation

I was told about these 3 today - didn't realise it was the same three from last time! Some people have no heart at all do they? Well, when they're with us we'll get some nice piccies and start finding somewhere for them!

Me too T. The annoying thing is we had loads of enquiries about the youngest one, but her phone went down everytime I passed her number on, yet was fine when I rang to confirm they had got through, so we prob could have found him a good home by now.

Well, the rescue lady was at the vets for something tonight, and this lady was in with the 3 of them to be pts, so obviously she agreed to take them - the vets are holding them for the week for us though, as we are having flooring done, so haven't got room for anything at the moment. Fingers crossed we can find them a home.

Me too - I keep debating with adopting one of the others myself, but I know I woudlnt be doing it for the right reasons, and at the moment, I am trying to get Lucy integrated, bringing anohter one in wouldnt' be good!!

We have had interest in the youngest one - not set in stone, as she has a young child, and the cats haven't been around them much, so have suggested a visit to see how they get on. Fingers crossed for them, it is one sorted. And we had an 11yo on the waiting list, I contacted them to see how things were going, and she is going to persevere with the cat and her child's allergies, she has come up with a way that seems to be helping, so that is good too. And, someone at my work is doing a sponsored run adn the sponsorship coming to us, so a good day all round.

Aitch, they are in the Greater Manchester area, the person who has them says they are not particularly close, so dont necessarily have to go together.

Hi, I'm new to the site!
Recently lost my beautiful ginger/white cat after 14 years :-(
Would prefer an older cat to a kitten as oldies tend to be overlooked don't they?
Whereabouts are these cats? Do they need to be re-homed together?

Me too, but god knows where - 3 cats in one go is a lot for any of us to take in, the rescue is mainly set up for mums and kittens (she started it with another person who was set up for adults), so to put 3 seniors in there this close to kitten season would really make things difficult - but, she has 6 weeks before she goes on hol, so who knows what will happen in that 6 weeks? We do have them advertised on our website and rehoming page, although I can't remember if I put the pics on!!

Oh Lord desley. Hope these little pensioner cats can get somewhere soon. Well done you, but I can understand how pressing this has become.

We have some oldies that are on our waiting list, and the lady rang me up again today to see how we are getting on finding homes, and we have had no enquiries. She then told me that she is really struggling to cope now (reason for needing new homes is she is struggling with the upkeep as she has rheumatoid arthritis), and they are going away in 6 weeks, so she is panicking as to what will happen to them if something can't be found, and then said that she might have to consider having them put down, she can't think of any other way. Apparently no other rescue in the area will help due to their age (9, 11/12 and 13/14), not even teh one who have an 'oldies room'. I have committed myself to taking on this unneutered male - and to be honest, that is more important at this time of year, we need him off the streets as soon as possible, the rescue are having the floor in the cattery replaced (desperately needs doing, doubt it will last another summer), and 3 would be too many for Kelly. So if anyone knows anywhere else, please either post or pm me - I do have pics, will find them and post later - need to go and get ready to take PAtches to his new home now.
