Saffie, Jazz and Sooty all came in together from the same home. We were told they had been messing in the house, so for the past year they'd been shut out >:( the garage was their only shelter. Saffie and Sooty are brother and sister and around 7 yrs old, and Jazz (Saffie's daughter) is around 6 yrs old.
They've been with me about 3 weeks now, all very scared when they first arrived and it was clear that they didnt really get on, so luckily I could split them up as noisy George had to come indoors which left a space. So Saffie has got a pen to herself now and is much happier :) Could really do with splitting Jazz and Sooty up too as Sooty is a bit domineering, but no can do at the mo.
Anyway, since they've been with me they have all used the litter trays perfectly, not one accident. Bit of probing and I discovered that the owners had moved house, they already had a toddler, and then a new baby - sounds like it was all too much for the poor cats :(
This is Saffie :) (no pics of Sooty yet, well none that arent blurred lol!) Saffie is more confident now.

and this is Jazz (the owners had called her Jasper  ) as you can see she's still quite scared, but happy for me to stroke her now.

Its so sad when the home does not fit the cats and the signs are ignored.
They are beautiful ;D
-
Poor babies. My nightmare is sending a cat back. :'( Are all three for adoption together?
-
What beautiful girls :Luv2: Could you ask Saffie where she gets here eyeliner from please :evillaugh:

Not sure what you mean about sending a cat back? Anyway, they will all go seperately, even though they came from the same home, they are not in the least bit bonded. Saffie and Sooty would probably both need to be only cats, Jazz, I'm not sure about whether she'd like to be an only or not, difficult to tell with her at the mo.
What beautiful girls :Luv2: Could you ask Saffie where she gets here eyeliner from please :evillaugh:
She has got gorgeous eyes hasnt she?
-
They are both gorgeous, poor babes being pushed out like that.

They are gorgeous - look in very good condition despite their sad story :Luv:

Exactly what I thought. They look very well fed. Really beautiful :Luv: :Luv:
Jazz is like a slightly rounder Ruby Doo. Do hope you can find suitable permanent homes before too long Gillian
-
:Luv: :Luv: They are gorgeous :Luv: :Luv: How can anyone not love them :(
So glad they are with you hun, i know they will all have a wonderful life from now on
Give yourself and them a bigggg cuggle from me
-
What lovely cats :Luv: I hope they can find suitable homes soon. Shame when they have to be only cat as so many potential homes already have a feline occupant!
I like the name Saffie. If I ever have a female cat I am going to call her Safina (means beautiful one in Swahili or something) shortened to Saffie for everyday usage ;D
-
they all sound great Gillian adn the pics of the girls are amazing - gorgeous!
Hopefully they will find their forever homes soon and find themselves once again happy and loved. for you and the babies x
-
Thanks everyone :thanks:
Some news - Saffie went to her new home this evening! We had someone interested in homing a tabby (this was before I'd managed to get her picture on the Trust's website) so he came to meet her just over a week ago, but they were also interested in a couple of other cats with other fosterers. Then today they phoned and said they would like to take her and could they come this evening! I'd already done a homecheck, and they'd already got the Feliway plugged in, in anticipation... ;) - So off she went! :)
Now I can split Jazz and Sooty up so they can blossom in their own space :) hopefully.
-
Thats great and hope she is very happy in her new home ;D
-
Great news, hope she settles in well :)
-
brilliant news Gillian :)
-
:wooooo: go Saffie! ;D
Hope that Jazz & Sooty aren't waiting much longer
-
Thanks :thanks:
I split Jazz and Sooty up this morning and already they are both much more relaxed, Jazz because she hasnt got Sooty biffing her every time she moved around, and Sooty because he doesnt need to keep up the effort of being bossy anymore ;)
-
great news :)
-
Bumped in to Saffie's new owner today and she's settling in really well already, even after just a few days! Sounds like she's taking over slowly but surely lol! :evillaugh:

Hi, we're based in Wiltshire - Cats Action Trust (N&W Wilts) http://www.catsactiontrust.speedycheetah.com/index.html
-
Oh bit too far away from me. Since contacting you, Ive asked about a cat hopefully if a house check can be arranged and all goes well, I will be able to home the kitten.
That cat on the front page is gorgeous by the way. I hope you find lovely homes for these cats :)
-
Still not getting decent photos of Sooty - he keeps bobbing around lol! This is the only (fairly) decent head shot ;D

I know - when the owner brought the 3 of them it confused me! Saffie was easy - tabby and white ;D and then there was Sooty and Jasper - even more confusing, as Sooty is black & white, while Jasper is all black - not only that, Jasper is a girl  (so I renamed her Jazz). When we put them into the pen, I kept asking, so Sooty IS the black & white?, and Jasper IS the black?, and Jasper IS a girl?
-
:Luv: :Luv: just simply gorgeous :wow: :Luv: :Luv:

Well, its been a long time coming, but Jazz has finally got a home and she will be leaving me tomorrow. Lovely gentleman whose cat had recently passed away. He came to look at both Sooty and Jazz. Sooty was very confident and kept head butting him and I thought it was going to be Sooty he chose. Jazz was as timid as usual (with strangers - she's fine with me now) and I thought she'd blown it! But he went away to think about it, and decided on Jazz!
So now its just Sooty out of these 3 left - they've both been with me since Feb :(
-
:wooooo: :1st place: Jazz ;D
I think it's lovely he chose Jazz even though she didn't 'sell herself' :) :crossed: that Sooty won't have to wait much longer either
-
Awwwwwwwwwww they are both gorgeous and so pleased I met Jazz, hope she is very happy in her new home ;D
-
Thanks :thanks: I do hope Sooty willl have a home soon too - because he is getting stir crazy and beginning to meow quite a lot..........will have the council on my case again if he carries on :scared:
-
that is fab that Jazz has got a home :)
-
Brill news Jazz has a home hun ;D ;D and i also hope Sooty has a great forever home soon too :Luv: :Luv:
sending all my love over
-
Thanks :)
took Jazz to her new home yesterday - I expected her to be quite scared and prob run and hide behind or under something - but no, she hopped out of the carrier and wandered over to the stairs where she just sat on the bottom step, washing herself and looking around at her new surroundings :-: Think she'll be ok :Luv:
So one out - two in! Millie and Mollie arrived this afternoon - sadly they were adopted from us 3 yrs ago as kittens, their owner moved in with her partner who already had two cats (Bengals) and unfortunately world war 3 broke out! :scared: So Millie and Mollie have come back (they were with another of our fosterers before, but that fosterer has since given up fostering).
-
So sad Milly and Mollie have come back.........pics? :innocent:
-
No pics yet - they are a bit stressed! hissing at each other (oh dear, I think they blame each other for the situation they are in!) and Millie is hissing at me! - weird, she will give my hand a sort of friendly head butt - and then hiss lol! I've noticed they've both lost fur down the inside of their back legs (Mollie in particular) - stress grooming/overgrooming maybe? Mollie is black and Millie is b&w.
-
Poor little things
Just tried to post pics of Chico and it stole my post grrrrrrrrrrr..........too tired now!
-
Great news about Jazz, esp as Sooty seemed to be doing his best to say "pick me"!
Shame about Millie and Mollie coming back though :(
-
Sooty is still with me, poor boy :( been here since Feb. Anyway, am going to put a new pic on the Trust website of him and a new write up and I've got these two pics, which do you think?

I know, and he's so fed up with being in a cattery pen. He did have one viewing, but the people couldnt make up their minds and were looking at lots of other cats anyway :(
-
Both good pics but I'm with Edd - number 2 makes me go Awww and I :Luv2: his chubby cheeks.
-
I vote '2' too :Luv2:

He's only had one viewing?! :( :( But he's so handsome :Luv: Is he affectionate?

Yes he is affectionate. Just doing a new write up for him - goes along the lines of:
UPDATE: Sooty says he’s been here far too long and would really like a new home now please. He’s a lively 7 year old and living in a cattery pen is seriously cramping his style! He’s a big cat, and boisterous with it – but he’s also got a soft side and he will nudge your hand when you stop stroking him, just too remind you he’s still there. He would suit a mature adult home, or a family where the children are 10 years plus, preferably where there are no other cats, as he can be a bit bossy with other felines!
-
Sounds good Gillian. If I was in the market for another kitty I would certainly be snapping him up. I hope someone comes along very soon that can offer this handsome lad the home he deserves.
-
Might have a home for Sooty at last! Very nice family came to see him today, after reading my recent updated write up about him. They've recently lost their 17 yr old cat. They all loved him, and he wasnt at all worried about strangers being in his pen, he was loving all the attention I think :) Doing homecheck tomorrow, pretty sure all will be fine, I have a good feeling about it. :)
-
That's great news ;D
:crossed:
-
Thats great and hope it works out ;D
-
Hoping homecheck goes OK Gillian and Sooty finds a family to love and ease their loss
-
I hope it all goes well and he lovely Sooty had a new home ;D
-
Fantastic news Gillian! ;D
-
Sadly this isnt going to happen for Sooty :( The family are lovely and I know they've got a lot of love to give the right cat, but its not right for Sooty I'm afraid :(
-
oh no poor Sooty :'(. Hope he doesn't have to wait long for another possible home.
-
Oh dear , what was wrong for Sooty?
-
Poor Sooty :(
-
Bum :( Was really hoping his time had come
-
I knew the potential new home had 2 dogs, which I understood to be docile and fine with cats - and I thought with the right intros, Sooty would be well able to cope. Unfortunately the dogs weren't docile when I visited lol! in fact one took an instant dislike to me, snapped at my arm and spent the whole time I was there, growling at me :scared: the other one was quite boisterous, despite being elderly - probably both over excited by a stranger visiting - but I could see it wouldnt be fair on Sooty, at 7 yrs old, to have to learn to live with those two! I was also concerned about the proximity of the road, a fast country road.
Such a shame, cos I know they would have loved him. :(
-
Poor Sooty. What a shame.
-
Yes, it was a huge shame. I keep telling him that it was for the best, but I don't think he believes me :(
-
What a shame but I am sure you have done the right thing for Sooty - he may need some Dreamies to convince him though ! Seriously, he is so gorgeous, surely his forever home can't be far away :Luv2:
-
- he may need some Dreamies to convince him though !
Yes, I think you are right ;)
-
Might have new home for Sooty........ ;) keeping fingers crossed it will work out for him at last.
-
all crossed here ;D ;D
-
:crossed: here too!
-
Sooty finally went to his new home yesterday - after being with me for 11 months! Think its time for some of these ;D
:yayyy: :yayyy: :yayyy: :yayyy: :yayyy:
-
:wooooo: fantastic news :wow: Just in time for Xmas too, am having visions of him being fed strips of smoked salmon and moist turkey breast :)
-
Yes, think he is going to be spoilt rotten there. We don't normally home this close to christmas, but in Sooty's case I thought we could make an exception. :)
-
excellent news! Happy Christmas Sooty!
-
Great news ;D ;D
-
Fantastic news, so pleased he has a lovely new home ;D
-
