:(I am in urgent need of finding a new home for my ten year old ginger tom! He belonged to my mum who has had to emigrate for her job and she was unable to take him with her. I am a student and am not allowed to take him to my halls so I am urgently trying to re-home him.
Ziggy is fully house-trained and has been neutered. He is good with children and is very affectionate so would also make a great companion animal for an older person. However, he is also quite independent and so can actually quite happily be on his own so he will not need constant attention. At this moment he has not been vaccinated very recently but that can be arranged and I will do that obviously completely free of charge. I know that he is a slightly older cat but I really feel that he deserves the chance to have a home where he can be loved!
I have obviously tried all the rehoming centres in my area but it's not going very well! I am based in Manchester and can travel a bit in order to find him the perfect home!
If you feel that you can give Ziggy a loving home then please please get in touch

Hi Jess,
Did you manage to sort a home for Ziggy?
-
No I haven't had any luck yet! All the rehoming places in my area are full up, with one place telling me there was an eight month waiting list. It's getting quite desperate now really as I'm going to university in about 2 weeks!

Oh dear, have you told them how urgent this is? there's a list here of rescues your area and there may be some you've not tried:
http://www.catchat.org/adoption/lancs.html
also I presume you've tried all family/friends to see if any can help - at least until you can your boy in a rescue?

I'll move this to Urgent Section

Thank you so much for all the lovely messages and for all the help and advice with Ziggy. Like I said I'm trying the rehoming places repeatedly and there are some notices up around my village. Apart from that I'm not sure what else to do...Thanks everyone once again! x

Another thought would be a notice in your vets, and or to mention to your vet as they may know of anyone reputable who is looking for a new addition.
Have you also posted on Cat Chat? as someone may be able to help or advise on there, I'm sure would do this anyway but do make sure any necessary checks are done before rehoming though

Any news please?
