I've been browsing so many rescue sites recently that my head is now starting to spin so I thought it might be easier to post here.
We'd love to offer a home to two cats in need. Because we live on a busy road, and because there's no cat flap, we can only take indoor cats - however, we have a good sized garden so once settled, they could have access to it when we're at home (it'd be a shame to have to keep them locked inside while we're out in the sunshine and fresh air!).
We're both at work all day, which is another reason we'd like two (a single cat would probably get bored/lonely) and we're happy to consider older cats - in fact, they'd probably be more suitable. We have no children and no other pets.
We've been homechecked by Cats Protection and Streetkatz but, of course, happy to be checked again if necessary.
We're in Sevenoaks, in Kent, and I have a car so can travel (within reason) to collect.

These two are probably a bit far for you but thought I would post anyway as you never know you might have relatives up that way who you could combine a visit with to meet them and see what you think.

Have sent a message to Niall asking if he has any cats in his care that would suit your home environment. He's in Bexleyheath.....not sure how far that is from you.
-
Thanks both.
Bexleyheath is probably do-able (ironically, it's closer to where we used to live where we couldn't have cats!). Wolverhampton, sadly, isn't, I don't know anyone in the area at all (but those cats are lovely!).

I know you said older cats. BUT Niall has coming in on Friday a deaf white kitten and a three legged amputee kitten.
Not sure if they're buddies or not, but if they are might be worth considering.
-
Deaf and three-legged I have no problem with! But I'm not sure we could provide a good home for kittens - they'd be on their own all day during the week. But I'll certainly bear them in mind and would be interested to hear more when Niall knows more about them and what sort of home they need.
(How on earth did a kitten end up as an amputee?)

I've not asked. Sometimes with Nialls it's best not to; I already take exception to a lot of the human race.
Another pair are coming into care with FurryFriends rescue in Surrey. They're ten years old and their owner has passed away. They're scared of kids.....

They're scared of kids.....
No problem, we can provide a totally childfree environment! ;D

Will PM you Emma and Nialls numbers. That way you can talk to them both and see what cats they have needing homes.

Thanks, much appreciated.

We are now new slaves to two beautiful cats - one gorgeous tabby, one stunning black. They are very affectionate and sweet, although one is still nervous and hiding (they've only been home an hour). The other is already a huge character and I can forsee all sorts of fun!
Photos will follow in a few days (when the little panther can be coaxed out).

I'm sure Emma was massively chuffed to find such a great home for these two. Congrats on your new family additions, Sara.
