Not heaters, but I can recommend these for anyone that doesn't have an electric supply. They reflect body heat and they really do get toasty.

This is the size 2. They recommend the size 1 for cats but I would say size 2 is about the smallest I would get for a cat. You can order various types of covers including one for skin probs.

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Thanks Angie, that particular one is out of stock but have found others similar.

Also, someone else in our branch has been in touch with this link:

I believe the branch has used this company before.
Gillian, might be helpful.

Grange Pet Centre is actually located about 10 miles from me, bought quite a few bits from them, they are very good.

toastee!!!

Oh goodeee!! I can't wait to get electricity to my pens, at the moment I'm struggling with battery lights  and of course puss cats are having to have extra blankets  ;)

Thanks Angie, that particular one is out of stock but have found others similar.

Thanks  :thanks: but, I'm quite lucky (or rather the Cats Action Trust is!) because a friend of mine used to run a small boarding cattery and she is donating her tube heaters. Its just as well really cos the quotes I've been getting to actually run the electricity from the house are pretty expensive  :-:

Ours have the metal plug in ones in the garage and seem to like them = they are on all winter from about November onwards - our single garage is where some of our outside ferals sleep - it contains 4 armchairs and they have beds in the rafters - it also contains my wood shredder and some dried logs for human heat

In the wnedy house at the bottom of the garden I use the micro heat pads - 3 off and the ones down there seem to like them to - we get about 11 hours of heat from them - I am the idiot at 11pm in the evening with 3 foot of snow wading down to opo them in - whilst walking the dogs!

I'm going to be using those tubular heaters in my sleeping compartments too, do they keep it nice and warm Angie?

I have a tube heater in mine - think they are greenhouse products. Its been installed for years in conjunction with a thermostat and is on most of the time ( :-[)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/TUBULAR-HEATER-60W-2ft-LONG/dp/B000Y9Q8B2

and a heated bed.

you can also buy the IR ones or heat lamps but I have no experience of those

We want to order a heater for the sleeping pod and would appreciate any recommendations - looking at a heater rather than heat pads.  Any advice welcomed, thanks.
