todays email says squirt is still be syringe fed but is wobbling over to have the odd drink of water and his mucus seems to be getting better. They have booked him in at the vet tomorrow.

The boys owners are keeping in touch with me which is nice of them.
Squirt became poorly over the weekend and went to the vets on monday. He was given a not too bad bill of health and some antibiotics.
He's not rallied yet and I have reminded them all about the Famvir.

He ate some salmon today so fingers crossed that this is the start of the return.....

Todays Email.....
What a difference a week makes. The boys have totally settled in now, spending a majority of their time downstairs. Apart from the occasional hissing they are settling well with Lou, our dog.

I've attached a some files with some pictures for you to see. One nice aspect of the cats being down stairs is that Squirt is becoming ever active trying to follow and go with the others when he feels the need to. As well as a major appetite he has gained stair skills and goes up and down the stairs under his own volition, and in his own time and unique style.

They are very relaxed and at home with us. What a fuss ball Romeo is but he is so nosey. Anywhere he hasn't been he wants to get into. Midnight is constant activity and play while Squirt is content to just be cuddled or left somewhere comfy and loudly purr.

It is with a heavy heart and total delight that I can tell you all that I have just come back from delivering Romeo, Midnight and Squirt to their new home.
They have gone to a lovely family (more a couple with a grown up son) who are animal mad and have a dog with allergy problems a parrot with half a leg missing and various other small animals.
The poor things were a bit stressed. Romeo seemed fairly unfazed but did pant a little, Squirt was rooted to the spot on the rug and midnight hiding under the sofa as I left. Romeo has inspected the house and available laps and I am sure they will all be looked after well.
CCG will continue to pick up the vets bills relating to FIV and squirt.
The dog couldn't be bothered to get off the couch to see what all the fuss was about.  :Luv2:

I have suggested they take the boys to Ross (vets) on Wednesday to make sure that the stress of the move hasn't caused anything to kick off and for Ross to see what his new patients are like and also to discuss neutering.

Fingers crossed and all our vibes that all goes well.   :'( :'(

Squirt is quite a happy little soul and while happy to be fussed and purrs like mad does not often seek me out for it. If he wants attention he goes to Romeo and his huge purr them reverberates around the house while Romeo gives him a wash.
Romeo is still mad for attention and Midnight seems to be taking after him (I keep having to tell myself that they are not related - though I suppose there is always an outside chance!).

He's still quite wobbily. He can run but tends to lean to one side. He has never tried the stairs and I constantly worry as he lives upstairs and I have no stairgate. He can climb on to the bed but does not jump and play like his brother. He will need an indoor home only, if he gets into trouble there is no way he could get out of it apart from being able to crawl under something.
He is good with the litter tray but sometimes lies on his side to pee, and if he panics his co-ordination gets a lot worse.
Sounds very much like Boris -he can't use a tray at all and always lies on his side -we taught him to use puppy training pads -i put some paper towel over then and use a corner of room and he is a very good boy .
Boris can't even jump on a bed but he does manage in his own fashion to do stairs -he hauls himself up and does a rather dramatic come down but after a long hard think I decided he was OK -our stairs do have a gentle bend which helps -keep his claws fairly long they need them to grip -tbh they also need to exercise their muscles as if not they can have further problems. --we do also have a low barrier we can attach to top of our stairs if needed -i had to use this with a rescue cat who was blind and semi paralysed.
Boris was a rescue who came to me at 12 weeks -his CH is probably due to oxygen deficiency rather than FIE
He is nowover 2 and lives with my other cats very happily -excitement and fear and tiredness all make the coordination worse -anaesthesia must be carefully monitored too with CH cats -
does he have head wobbles ? I find larger shaped dry food better with him and use a specially shaped high back bowl for wet so it doesn't escape !
These puddytats take a lot of time and effort to care for but they are amazing and it's truly rewarding for owner and puss.

What is his temperament like ? is he a shy cat even with you ? or is he happy at home-all CH cats seem unsure if in different circumstances and take time to adapt -routine is essential to them it seems
Boris now -click on pic for video

Boris a bit younger

Hi,

his loveliness is still here with me looking for a home as are Romeo, Juliet, Midnight and Portia.

We have had no enquiries about any of them yet.
There have been no more flare ups though we have still to vaccinate and neuter at some point.
