Angie just a thought, would it be less stressful on the cats and easier for you if your vet came to you. I arrange regular visits with mine when several need seeing and just go to surgery with small numbers and ops.
 with the vets round here?
T, you seem to have a saint of a vet, very rare keep hold of them and make sure you bung them the odd cake!

Well Romeo looks the picture of health this morning though I really don't believe it to continue.
Juliet is still looking poorly though her eyes are a bit better and now portia is deffo got it as she is snuffling and one eye is weepy.
Just debating if to take them to vets this pm or tomorrow.

Couldn't believe it, last night Katie one of the 10 year olds was sneezing a bit but I am hopeful that aat 10 and being fully vacced it will not come to anymore.

These have just come back from my second vet visit as Romeo has caught the kitten bug and has runny eyes, wet nose and at the moment is sneezing. Vet says chest OK, glands slightly swollen and it sounds like URI and he has had a long lasting ab jab.

Juliet and Portia (now named, a little girl) were pronounced healthy and started on vaccinations.

Pen scrubbed and cleaned. All back in.

Next job to clean out the kitten room and all the spilt litter. Then bath and next feed for bottle ones (will be overdue by then!).
Just come on for a breather.

Rome, Juliet and Junior continue to do well. Junior is still not taming down but then I hardle have any time to do anything with them apart from the basics.

Just put Romeo on his own as there's been a bit of growling from the pen and I think he is bored and picking on Juliet.

Romeo, Juliet and the surviving kitten, junior (a girl I think!)  are all doing well.

Due to their boredom I have taken a hacksaw to the pen and cut a hole between two levels (also sliced through one of the floor supports without thinking  :-[).

Romeo and Juliet are enjoying each others company and Junior is of playing on the lower level.

After all they've been through I would love to find them an indoor home together.
Mum tested negative for FIV when she was spayed a couple of weeks ago but we will need to get the test repeated to be sure.

Well a trip to the vet yesterday with both kittens for comparison and today with the poorly one.
Both times I was sent back with her as 'miracles do happen' after fluids, steroids and abs.

Jill spoke to vet this afternoon and they agreed that if the little one was to make it, she would need subcut fluids every few hours so at 2 pm I took a very poorly kitten to Jill. I did phone her up to say I had concerns that the little one wouldn't make the 10 min journey but we agreed that if she was going to die she would and if she had any chance of being saved she was better with Jill.

The poor thing passed peacefully about an hour later.

Well, we still have 2 kittens - didn't expect it last night 'cos the girl was not too good, but she's hanging in there and we (Jill) are still giving her fluids and also tried her on a few mls of convalescence food which she wasn't too keen on - we've even given her a few doses of Synulox.

Boy is fine and in fact got out of the pen this morning when i went to fetch something and spent some time playing with Romeo.

Still, one day at a time and fingers crossed.
