Have you had any other offers of help Angie   :-:  This could be sorted easily if other rescues could take 2 or 3 cats to be spayed or neutered and returned, see what happens but I've put a plea out anyway for you

As far as I know Angie, there is no way round hurrying it up but usually it takes a few days.  I've had a couple of feral grants in the past and basically you have an agreement with one vet and the money goes to them and any spays/neuters they do just comes off the amount sent and the vet sends the bills in, mine used to send them monthly.

That sounds typical wanting the kittens back, sadly to keep her on side if she won't listen to reason, that's all you can do but then you'll have the problem of the spaying/neutering when the time comes that they are old enough  :tired:  I'm still prepared to help anyway with the trapping, any I get, I'll get done up this end and return.  I'll have to try and sort out when I'll be free and sort some pennies out for fuel and I'll let you know

Bleedin' cats protection!!

I have phoned up HQ and they are going to POST me a form that needs to be filled in and P@OSTED back before they can issue a neutering thing. if anyone knows a way around this please pm me.
I'm a bit worried that the momentum will slow down if we have to wait over a week.

The 3 older cats are now at my vets in Coventry to be returned later today. Sadly, Margaret says that the mother cat is looking accusingly at her and she has asked me to return the 3 kittens - who must be 3 - 4 months old. She was not persuaded by my argument about the stress of the journey back and that the mum cat would be fine and as I want to keep her co-operation I have agreed to take them all back this afternoon. And this from a farmer that (when they could) used to take her animals to the local slaughter and stay with them to keep them calm while the deed was done!!!

'cos I'm tired , a copy of the email I've just sent to the neighbour of th farmer.

just got back.

we have brought back 3 kittens about 3-4 months to hopefully home and 3 grown ups which hopefully will get done at the vets tomorrow and I will take back then - was going to be wednesday but I'd have problems housing them that long to be honest.

We have left the trap and a dog cage with the idea being if we can arrange something with thompsons vet in Leek that perhaps margaret can continue to catch and take them there for neutering as its daft to bring them all the way back to coventry to be neutered if we are only going to return them (which to be honest is probably best for them as feral homes are difficult to find and I'm sure after all that space they would hate city life)

I'll contact CP tomorrow and see if they will provide the vouchers.

we have said that if any of the kittens or pregnant queens are caught that we will go and collect them to try and socialise the kittens and return the mums once spayed (unless they calm down enough to be homed). Hopefully, we may get some help with this from other rescues but will do as much as we can. So if you know anyone locally that might help then please shout!

The cats all look very robust and healthy and both margaret and Stan are fantastic people and myself and Jill (especially Jill) are looking forward to going back. Jill was helping feeding the lambs this afternoon and I'm relieved to have got back at all. I have said I will take a sleeping bag with me next time.

Anyway, must go and drink a gallon of water and get some sleep. Neutering, a funeral (one of the cat group ladies died last week) and hopefully a trip back to drop of the cats.

take care,
Angie

BTW, Stan is 86 and has been mowing some of his 156 aces today and margaret is 72 , gets up at 5am has a small holding of her own over the border and is there to try and sort out her flock of sheep and the cats. They both live in caravans on the farm as the farm house burnt down several years ago. They are lovely people and obviously love the cats to bits. so if anyone can stretch to helping please shout!

I've spoken to Angie about helping and she'll be going over today (Sunday) to suss the situation out.  Some of the females may be pregnant so we may need a few foster homes lined up.  If anyone can help, can they either pm Angie or mention on the thread what they can do to help.  All the adult cats can be returned once the kittens are weaned and adults are spayed/neutered

Right does anyone fancy helping a combined rescue force for some cats near Leek?
I'm afraid its a normal FTGH ad but not a normal response.
We need CP neutering vouchers, homes for kittens and some trapping done.
I am prepared to do a bit and have one trap and maybe can borrow some more. Adults can be put back.

This is the reply i got to my orignal query and I have just spoke to the woman who says she thinks all the queens are pregnant again and while talking there were at least 9 kittens running around that she could see.

A NEIGHBOUR,I THINK THINGS HAVE SPIRALLED  OUT OF CONTROL SHE HAS A FARM AND IS SO BUSY WITH SHEEP AND IS ON HER OWN AND THE CATS SEEM TO BE FOREVER HAVING BABIES,I THINK VOUCHERS WOULD BE A GREAT HELP I THINK THERE IS 30 PLUS ALTOGETHER.

PM me if you can help or have contacts in the area who might be able to help.
