I hate abscesses, my friends horse had a huge one on her chin, she had to go last in line as the wind would blow foul smelling pus back at us

scratches dont normally become lumps filled with pus, i'd say more likely to a small bite.

I second what Sam has said - a course or long lasting antibiotic is needed as its an open wound now.

Still keep cleaning it with salt water though or Hibiscrub if you have any

Although bathing it in salt water is OK I would suggest a vet visit and a shot of antibiotics just in case he has any other bites that yu haven't discovered yet and will stop any infection.
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

i found last night a lump under monkeys jaw with a small scratch on it so i decided the best thing to do is to bathe it in warm salt water which he didnt object to at all.

hes fine in himself eating well and drinking well too and still wants to go out etc.

thing is the lump burst today  all over my nice fresh cream bed sheets, now its oozing puss i am currently bathing it 3 times a day in warm salt water.

does this mean its gonna get better now?
