Yay for Doyle!  :) Such a shame about the newbies though, imagine being rehomed at teh age of 13 - she must be so confused  :(

Some good & bad news from work today,Doyle has been rehomed!!! He's getting picked up tommorow.Sadly yesterday, when the staff arrived to open up,the y were met with 3 cat carriers containing the most beautiful Norwiegan Forest Cats? I've ever seen, brother & sister aged 13 & a younger one.Owners couldn't look after them anymore. No photos as yet as they are still too stressed so one of the other girls has been giving them some TLC...

I took some cooked chicken in with me today, most of them flocked around me like I was Jeezus with four fishes, even the most timid let me get closer to them however Brett was around me like flies on sh1te!
Even George & the big fluffy B&W forest cat Edmund let me hand feed them.
I had the chicken in a Chinky box in the top drawer of the filing cabinet,Brett forced the draw open & was sniffing around the box....I let him lick the empty box clean tho!
Incidentally, the job I did for years at NTL & was made redundent from in 06 was advertised online Sunday,so I've applied.IF I'm sucsessful & get the job,I'll be on £18500 PA (Plus car ect) so I've,bit premature I grant you, decided to sponsor the feral clan at £75 a month....They've enriched my life so much even in this short time & I'll still volenteer after my placement is ended.

Not still feeling funny are you Merv? It can be a nasty shock that may come back to haunt you in the wee hours. Be ready to recognise those flashbacks when they happen.

Any damage to the car, well frankly, you walked away - don't want to think about the alternative. On the wrong side of the road???? Jeez. Glad you're alive, never mind feeling funny.

Now, think about it this way, if you hadn't been on the way to the rescue, and needing petrol to get there, you may well have been steaming towards that wayward truck at 40 mph. Curtains for you there, my lad. The Rescue has paid you back for your selflessness. Sleep easy tonight, you now have eight lives left xx

Pleased you're OK Merv and it's just the car that needs patching up  it's surprising how collisions affect you, I still brake and flinch every time I see a car coming up to a t-junction with the road I'm on and my crash (where a numpty pulled out in front of me) was coming up for two years ago!

Sitting at home, shaking like a leaf & a splitting headach coming on..was leaving   the garage for the ASSISI after getting petrol, nothing coming from the right, started to pull out left only to get a truck & trailer coming from the left,on the wrong side of the road, crossing to the my side of the road, to pull up in front of the garage, rip across the front of my car!!
They accepted liability & we decided not to go thru insurers so they paid me £65 cash for the damage. Not going in today as I feel quite weird.....

Thanks,A few of them, Dorothy,Kayla & Brett will let you stroke them on their own terms, some like the long haired ones (the are 3 of them) won't let you near them.Brett is like a normal house cat apart from his spraying *they're all neatured & spayed) & could be rehomed. They rehomed about 10 over the past few years, mainly to farmers. The's a Tortie called Daisy who spends her time hiding away.

I started there today,I'm well & truely bolluxed now!!!

I really enjoyed it,working in the semi feral cat section, some of the cats have been there over 14 years, good thing is the ASSISI operate a no kill policy.
Work wasn't all that dirty apart from one cat who always missed the litter tray when peeing..
One lady volunteer came in & sat with the cats & she gave them cooked chicken, which was quite funny to watch them all pushing into line..
Best job I've had for ages!
