Tink is a two year old (DOB: Sept. 2006) tortoiseshell Maine Coon who has been in the care of UKRCC since May this year. When she arrived into foster care, she was very underweight, but she is now a happy young lady who is ready to find her forever home. Tink is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. She has been health checked and tested for FIV and FeLV. She is a very clean girl and uses her litter tray reliably. She is happy to be groomed.
Tink is full of energy and very playful. She is very alert and doesn’t miss a single butterfly that happens to pass her way! She is a very clever cat and usually finds a way to get just what she wants. She is very affectionate and although is not keen on being picked up too much is happy to jump onto the nearest lap for cuddles. She loves human companionship
Tink needs a home with a very secure garden (she can climb for England), which is well away from busy roads. She is full of energy and would benefit from being able to play outdoors, with supervision. Tink is not used to living with young children, but a home with children (aged 12 years+) would be fine.
If you feel you can give this very special lady a loving, caring home and a life long commitment, then please complete our online adoption application at http://ukrcc.co.uk/question.php and indicate your interest in Tink.

She is a maine coon she just doesn't look much like one because of the way she has been treated :( she was very very under weight when she came to us and she is still really tiny but in much better health now and the vet has said she can now be re homed. We have another maine coon as well but she isn't ready to be re homed yet due to the way she was treated heres her pic

:rofl:Sorry shouldn't laugh its not a place thats her name. and the other ones name is lace but shes not ready to be homed yet
-
I think she looks like a maine coon, like Kelly said she was undernourished, so she would have dropped coat considerably, prob coinciding with a moult, when she's back in coat, she will look even better, although I think she looks lovely now, gorgeous! :Luv2: - hmmm, wonder how maine coon would fit it with the persians LOL! ;) Lace is pretty too, but I've fallen for Tink :Luv2: :Luv2:
-
Kelly, those photos arnt of the same cat

 No pic at bottom is tink and another pic is of lace the other maine coon we have but isn't ready to go yet

-
what a babe!!
-
I cant believe this beauty still hasnt got a home :( she is gorgous, :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
out of interest other than the large size and coat care is there anything different I would need to know for caring for a maine coon compared to Indy and Misha? would she be ok with smaller cats?
Big litter trays come in handy for them ;D Maine Coons are gentle giants, nothing is a bother to my boy Max. :Luv: He is twice the size of Tasha and Maddie but is very loving to them and often gives them a head wash (whether they want one or not). The head buts he gives me can hurst at times though! :Luv2:
-

-
sadly she isn't with Kelly Joy - if she had of been my oh would have been unable to resist - you should have seen him running from her house!
-
Well I've just looked back at the photos and thread and I am really surprised Tink still hasn't got a home, lots of luck things pick up for that pretty girl xx
-
I am waiting to hear from the parents... I can but hope
the other thing is finding out if she is ok with dogs...
-
Tink wouldn't be suitable to go to a home with dogs sorry
-
I think its such a shame that any of the cats you seem to have can't be homed with dogs, our Rescue Ragdoll hadn't seen a dog or as many cats and settled in very well and our Border Collie at 21 months Sky thinks she is wonderful and she head rubs him and walks underneath him
Sometimes an introductory period or fosterers with dogs may help out your long stayers, we found that when fostering we had folks queing at the door fior cats used to dogs or in our case the dogs are the cats pets and all get on well, we have done careful introductions with the dogs in their crates and on leads and most nights both Border collies have a couple of cats in their crates and Jazz shares her bed with Minmin the raggie!
-
If I recall the story Liz Tink has had a very, very hard life, I imagine they want her to go to a new home with no chance of further upset
-
Hi sometimes we have cats in that can go with dogs. But if the owners tell us that there cat doesn't get on with a dogs and they would prefer their cat not to go to a home with dogs then we have to respect what they say as they know their cat far better than we do.
I know all my lot are fine with dogs come to think of it my lot don't seem to care what I bring in the house weather it be a new cat, kitten, rabbit, dog, gerbil you name it they all just look at me as if to say what's mum brought home now lol
-
Kelly Joy just to say that surely once the owner has handed themover their opinion in some cases can count for nothing with some of the cats that seem to have been in a very bad state and are better off in homes that will love and want them rather than with a fosterer for very long periods which on homing after a long period can cause more distress to the cat
I have to say I foster and have ones folks say hate cats and are terrified currently one of these jester is curled up with Sunny my BC Puppy and he has only been here for 4 weeks so perhaps it would be worth considering homes with well trained dogs - my cats use claws first and the dogs know how much that can hurt!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I am sure that sometimes you are correct in saying that dogs and cats can get used to each other. However, it is part of our rehoming agreement that original owners do have a say in where their cats are rehomed to. This is because in many cases they are rehomed not because of neglect or cruelty but simply because of changes in their circumstances and they understandably are concerned about the cats future homes. In a case such as Tink where they have been in foster, then the foster mum or dad takes the role of previous owner. In Tink's case she is a very dominant cat who loves nothing more than to put older, weaker or less active cats in their places, quickly!!!
She is a lovely girl, very friendly to humans, but will brooch no nonsense from other animals. So, in this case she needs a home with no small children for her to bully and no animals for her to dominate. Dogs as you say can suffer from cats claws, and we feel that it is our responsibility to protect the innocent, i.e., dogs already living in the home. Of course if the cat for rehoming is used to living with dogs, we would then place them in homes which have dogs already as part of the new family.
We do not have the luxury of a centralised rehoming centre and our fosterers are volunteers, who may or may no be dog owners, and of course that dictates whether we have the ability to assess the cats tolerance of dogs.
-
Tink is still looking for a new home :'(
-
Its such a shame that she is still in foster care after nearly 7 months - she will be thinking she now has her forever home with her fosterer
-
We thought we had a home for Tink but sadly it has fallen through again. So poor Tink is still looking for a home :(
-
