Afternoon all
My parents have just taken in a rescue cat: 2 year old male tabby, very handsome chap! I'll put a post up now about his behaviour as I've mainly joined to get some expert advice from you all... So it's a quick hello and this will be continued in my next post! ;)

Thank you! ;D

Welcome to the group Marcos. Once you have found your way around the site you will see there are plenty of threads for you to join in, or start one of your own. There is plenty of advice to be had. Anyone would be willing to help. Love to see a photo of your parents rescue cat.

Many thanks Julie! Not had a chance to get many pics of him as he's so elusive but let's see if I can attach this one from yesterday...

He does look a nice kind sort. I am sure you are doing all the rights things. He will come around at his own pace. You have been around cats a long time. You know they like to do things on their terms. He is lovely. A gorgeous photo of him.

Very handsome tabby ;D

Lovely cat, looks just like my Xander who is also a very sensitive boy, he hides every time we have visitors.

Thanks all! My first cat hid from guests, so that I am familiar with and understand, it's just the hiding from his owners that's more concerning! :briggin:

What a very handsome stripey boy, how long have your parents had him?

Thank you Slugsta, only had him a fortnight, he's still getting used to his new surroundings!

It's still very early days, I'm sure he will come round in his own time.

He looks very handsome - if a bit worried!
Some take a while to settle and feel secure. I adopted two five years ago, one settled in immediately, the other hid under the wardrobe for three months. :shy: (Now she's a total fuss monster and loves a lap to sit on!)
