Lynn brought up a very good idea :-)
We can put our cats' names under the avatar.
1. Click your name or find 'profile' on top of the page below 'search'
2. In the left handside, under 'Modify Profile', click 'Forum Profile Information'
3.then you can upload your own picture and put your cat's name in 'Personal Text'
Okay, it took me ages to figure this out :-) :P
-
Has it worked? ???
-
Wooohoooo top work Andrew ;D
-
Welcome! It works :-)
It took me ages to figure that out thanks to Lynn's post :-) :D

I hope everyone chooses to do that, its a great help.

Hopefully the names of my 3 are there - Harry is the senior ginger, Sammy the handsome black boy and Poppy, who was rehomed via the CC rehoming forum, is the fluffy B&W

I made them in photoshop I think it is called. I made one for Eve too, I would offer but I just had a free trial period to photoshop (the latest one) and it has expired now. I bet someone here is a whizz with photoshop and can have a fab new job making everyone revolving avatars, after all which cat do you choose when you have more than one? Too difficult!!!! LOL

Hello everyone, Lesley here.
No photo to post yet, cos computer crashed on Monday and haven't had time to put photos on this one, so will try tonight.
I'm from Gosport, Hampshire on the South coast between Portsmouth and Southampton and run Eight Lives Left Kitten Rescue, handrearing and re-homing orphan kittens and occasional cats, along with my own bunch of Molly, Kaycee, Baz, Lucy, Smartie, Olivia, Elvis, Jenny, Gin, Tonic, Smudge, Forest Gump, Felix, Arial, and last but not least DD (named after a certain DiddyDawn!!)
Glad we have all found our way over here.
-
Hello, love this, we all can show off our furry friends when we post, love the smiles too ::)
-
Well done Andrew. Thanks. you done this before aint ya!!? :P
Will add that to the forum help section.
Tan, I haven't done this before :-) Actually... when I first joined CC in October, I sent unsolicited emails with my boys pictures to Dawn and Gill! Each pic was about 1.6M! I didn't even know how to resize those pictures and Gill thought it was a spam :P
Really, a big thank you to you and your wonderful hubby!! There are 76 members now! wo ho! errr no, I didn't join by using my 50 spare emails ;D
-
This forum's fabby! BIG vote of thanks to all those who must have been working pretty much all night to get it set up.
We've gained a couple of new messageboards: One for introducing your cats (http://www.chaptan.co.uk/xmas_auction/index.php?board=14.0") and another one just for transport requests (http://www.chaptan.co.uk/xmas_auction/index.php?board=15.0").
Abject horror at (hopefully temporarily) losing CC has turned to thrills with this lovely new playground and as far as I can tell most of the chatters making their way here too.

Hello Everyone,

Hi LeighK,
Was it easy to upload your photos, I would love to
be able to post pictures of all my babies like you have just done.
Thanks in advance, From Natalie xxx
-
Hi Nathalie, yes it is easy. (Even I managed it). Hit the Reply Button, do your message and then just click on Additional Options. You can then browse for the image on your Confuser and upload them.
Good luck.
-
I have tried this and my pictures are all about 50 - 60KB.
How do I reduce there size down to the allowed size of 30KB?
Thank you....xxxx
-
Nat,
I use Paint Shop Pro for resizing but I think there is also some freebee software about that let's you do the same. I can't remember what its called but I'm sure someone else will. In the meantime, you can email me the pics and I will resize them for you.

Hey y'all,
I'd only just joined over at Cat Chat (and lurked more than I posted) but you've all been so helpful I had to follow you over to these (temporary) forums in case I can return the favour in due course.
Anyway, Afternoon fellow Philofelinists! *waves*
I'm Lizzie. I'm 26 and at UWE in Bristol studying English Language and Linguistics (I was an Intelligence Researcher for the police before this). I joined Cat Chat initially because my Rufus has gone walkabout, however I found there a veritable plethora of information so have wound up visiting at least once a day! (Plus, if Rufus hasn't returned by my 3rd year of uni I'll be looking to adopt through CC now)
Rufus (http://s75.photobucket.com/albums/i299/decafmirth/Rufus/) was a year old on 4th September (our first whole day in Bristol). I was there for his birth (with a particularly distressed and nervous barely-adult mum), helped take care of him when his mum's owner had a nervous breakdown and could not look after herself, let alone her babies, and had the chance to adopt him when the buyer his mum's owner had lined up fell through. It's funny, really, 'cause I knew his name and how he'd look as a grown up from the moment he was born. When he was snipped and chipped we'd go walkabout together, I taught him how to climb, how to get back down (!), how to hunt... which is a good idea now he's out in the wilds, but I rued it for the time when I was waking up with dead mice on my pillow.
He's particularly adventurous, loving to squeeze into tiny spaces, and so friendly... especially with guys. (Another oddity, despite being neutered he and the tomcat next door used to 'mating call' at each other)
I miss him, and haven't slept unaided since he's been gone. However, no news is good news... there's hope. (My patroness is Freyja and I'm trusting her to either lead him safely home, find him a space with a loving family, or take him into her hall if he's found his way to the Rainbow Bridge.)
This has turned into a bit of an Addicts Anonymous type post, so I'm going to hush up (for now).
I'm looking forward to getting to know you all better :D
-

Hello!
I joined catchat recently after my cat Josie was injured and later on passed away. All the kind words meant a lot to me. Josie looked like a British Shorthair (see avatar) and had the personality of a Ragdoll. She passed away at the age of 5 and is dearly missed.
My new bundle of joy is a 12 weeks old Ragdoll:
About me: I'm originally from The Netherlands but am living with my wife Kate in New York. My wife is a real animal lover: besides the kitten we have a pure white Siberian Husky named Toby, a snake and a 15 gallon fish tank.

Hi Mark and welcome :-)

Hello everyone

We are in Chester.
Crunchie is a semi long hair furball! She is ginger, black and white and purrs most of the time. She likes sleeping and eating and chasing balls, her mummy likes sleeping and eating too but cant do enough because she has to go out to work to earn money for felix!

Hi Everyone,
Just thought i'd re-introduce me and my two girls.
Nina (white and black) is about 4 (well somewhere between 2 and 6 anyway!), she has run our household for the last 6 months and she is my little diva.
Kiki (black and white) is about 1 years old and she chose us about 2 months ago. It has been a hard 2 months but worth every minute. She arrived a timid, frightened young mum and is now a bolshy, cheeky teenager!
Can't remember a time when weren't owned ny kitty cats now... and wouldn't have it any other way :-*

Hallo ?;)
I`m Jana, I posted on Cat Chat from time to time. ?I currently have two kitties
Mollikat (tabby and white) also known as "pussy cat little, pussy cat small" a shy, skittish rescue cat who is frightened of most things particulalry moths, leaves, socks and any sudden movement. ?
Baby Daisy (black and white) a 6 month kitten, also rescue, who, unlike Mollikat, is quite bold, fearless and gradually taking over the house.
Previoulsy (now bridge babies) I had
Henry Pudding a ginger and white, my first rescue who was in my life for 12 years and died aged approx 18/20. ?
Tasha also known as Knackered Old Cat, she was only with me for 1 1/2 years, an elderly rescue ginger who died this summer of kidney failure.
From Henry and Tashsa I acquired a now deep seated fixation with gingers - my favourate of all kitties.
I have a voluntary job with a local cat sheleter - going there is the highlight of my week, so much more rewarding than my full time waged job.
I will miss Cat Chat and would like to take this opporutnity to thank all those involved with it for giving us something so important and so vital. ?I hope you will feel able to return to us.

Good work in setting up the forum, I know how much time they take to do well - so thanks and well done! ;D
V sad to see CC close the forum, but these things happen, the forum was always really a sideline to the main purpose of CC.
I've been a CC member for around about 4/5 years, my username there was Bod, and me & Mrs Bod live in London and have a pride of 7 furry's all indoor mogs and all delightful (but I'm biased!) Boo is 12 going on 3 and is the boss cat, he is black & white, Kali, 7 is all black and seems to think she is a princess, Pebbles is white and black and likes snuggling under the duvet with us, then you have the kids Tigger is a big tabby boy that meows like a baby, Mischief is a tabby girl who doesn't say much but is very cute, Perry is white with a grey tabby patch on his back and is a real lap cat and finally Homer who is big ginger and loud with his purrs and his meows - they are all 2.
I don't often get the chance to post much on forums these days, but I have added this site and the Hovel to my favourites and will look in whenever I can.
Thanks you again to those involved in setting this up, and please remember everyone, visit CC regularly to support them in anyway you can. ;)

Hiya Bod
Yes i am still feel very upset about CC. I hope they get a new forum up soon in the new year. I miss it after being there since Fen 04 not as long as you but it has becaome a big part of my life.
This site will only be tempory until that happens and the main reason creating this was to hold the christmas Auction to Raise money for a wonderful man who dedicates his days and nights to the lost and hurt cats in Brighton. I hope you can join us over on the auction board when it starts next thursday.
Thanks for joining
Tan

Hi all
I didn't post much on Cat Chat, but I'll still miss it, so I thought I might be a little more active. Avatar shows my baby, who's now just over 2 years old but still thinks he's a kitten and is currently in a bit of a loving mood since we have a foster family in (we're providing a little emergency fostering for local CP branch).

Hi
I was a new member of CC and posted a few times.
We were lucky enough to get two gorgeous cats (Mittens and Moppet) from Paws Inn recently.
We also have a Dobermann called Dizzy who is a bit Dizzy LOL and a Budgie called Sammy who so far seems to be surviving the cats!? Mittens and Moppets favourite slave is my four year old daughter Olivia who they instantly loved!

Hello Peeps!
Jasmine (Chat-de-fleur) from CC.
Thank you to Tan & Gill for providing this forum at such short notice.
I have to say I'm looking forward to the Christmas Auction, will sort out some items this weekend.
My niece is currently studying to become a teacher in Brighton, she loves cats too, maybe when she qualifies and settles down,
she might consider rehoming one of Ron's waifs and strays!
Off to have a cyber wander now...

That's my Pepper on my avatar (if I've done it properly!).
I have 3 furry babes, Pepper, Squeak (all black) and Chips (black & white). Pepper and Squeak are 5 years old and are brother and sister, Chips is 3 years old and the naughtiest boy on the planet. That's why I adore him.

-
Hi there
I was a lurker on CC after having been a regular on CC. The peeps who were on around the same time as me and me chatted way too much, and over loaded the CC server...and kept making it go off line :shy: So we went onto another forum, Katnip, to continue the chat. I still came over to read CC, but rarely posted.
I was so shocked to hear CC had gone. The support i had off the peeps on there when i lost my Spyro? was amazing and helped me loads.
This forum is fab! I am so glad there was some where you could all go to...and still be together. I am still lurking :shy: , but will post when i get chance.
Hope CC comes back soon though :(
A little bit about me. I have 4 cats. Sooty, Joey, Jack (who i had off DD) and Harry. Plus a hubby, plus 2 kids. Qiute the houseful!

Hello I am Chrissie and posted a few times on Cat Chat. Love the emoticons and hopefully this forum will become as busy and interesting as the CC one (if it isn't already) . I have one cat now, Dragan, he is 16 and has a slight heart murmur and pancreatitis. I lost my 17 year old dog Pepsi in Jan 2005, my almost 18 year old cat Madison in April 2006 and my 18 year old cat Guinness in September 2006. Not a good two years.
-
Welcome everyone and Chrissie!

Hi, I joined CC ?almost 2 years ago, when we found our tiny 6 week old Kami under a bush in our garden. ? I haven't posted much but have always enjoyed reading the posts and especially looking at the pics. ?I've picked up a lot of useful info too. ? Very sorry CC had to shut down (hopefully not for long) :)
