Hi Guys, long time no see!
I'm sad to say Jerry was hit by a car yesterday right in front of me.....which though awful to see did mean I got him straight to the vets. He was kept in all day, had his wound sutured and was given X-rays to check for any internal damage, thankfully none was found. He came home just after 7 last night.
This morning he was much more subdued than last night and was unwilling to eat or drink. ( not even dreamiest tempted him) and as far as I know he hadn't had a wee. He pooed in his box on the way home, so everything's working ok there. Being a paranoid cat mum, I popped him Back to the vets for another check, and a different vet said he was likely very sore and bruised, gave me some special food that he has had a few licks of, and a painkilling injection. My main worry is that he still doesn't seem to have weed.....I'm very loathe to rush him back to the vets AGAIN as it will stress him out, and at the moment he's nice and calm, giving head butts and purring when you talk to him. So do you think it will be ok to leave him till the morning?

He is a lucky cat to have survived, great that you were there to rush him to the vet, though and they fixed him. My cat was in the vets last week on a drip for 3 days, although she is 21, but she didnt wee for at least a day after she came home, or pooed, thihk she was a bit traumatised but seems ok now. HOpe he feels better soon and does the deed :Luv:

Sky hasn't weed since Thursday night. She has been poorly and hasn't eaten either - my vet wasn't concerned this morning. If nothing is going in there is nothing to come out. ;)
If he was eating/drinking and not weeing I would be concerned. You could always ring your vet or emergency vet up to ask them.
Jerry is a lucky boy to have got treatment so quickly.
Will send you some wee vibes ;D

Gordon Bennett, Kirst. How awful. I'm so sorry, but what a twisted blessing because you were able then to get swift treatment. Am sending super strong vibes for Jerry and you too, because that would have been beyond endurance to witness.

I saw this on FB Kirst. So sorry this happened but thank heaven you were there. I saw on FB too that he had eaten some watered down food which is good. Internal bleeding is the main concern but hopefully the X ray would have showed up any internal damage and being monitored all day too was certainly good.
Put yourself in Jerry's shoes. You would expect to ache more as time passes; yes? Very much hope therefore that the pain relief has helped but, despite his protestations, I really would try and keep him in for a few days if you can.
Am sending every good wish for your beautiful lad

Some positive news....when I went to have a little check on him at 2.30 am he chirrupped, got up, stretched, has a good old leg wind and head butts, wandered to his bowl, looked disgusted that it empty, followed me downstairs, had a sniff of the others leftovers and then went back upstairs.
When my mum went to check on him at 4.30 am he had vanished...he was back home in my side of the house, but as the dividing door was shut he must have gone out and used the Cat flaps. He's back on the landing now, so I think he's on the mend.
He must be quite swollen as he looks considerably fatter than he did a few days ago, but that's to be expected. :scared:

So sorry to hear about Jerry
It is good to hear hear he has made some improvements.
Hope his ouchy bits feel much better asap
-
He definitely seems to be on the up....I took him into the garden, he had a wander, a sniff and jumped up,onto a low wall. He's had some tuna, and is now curled up in Beavis new bed....poor Beav, every time he tries to get in there one of the big boys chucks him out!

Aaw great news

-
Popping by to top up the hugs for Jerry.  How are you both this morning Kirst?
-
I'm very pleased to report that we have our little Jezzy man back. Apart from not maybe jumping as high and a decided reluctance to go anywhere near the don of the house ( fine by me ) he's pretty much back to normal. He had his check up last night, and apart from the rice crispie effect of his trapped air on his back ( his chests fine) which is easing off he's back on his normal naughty self. :Luv:
-
That is such good news Kirst, so pleased for you all.
