Post by: alison67 on March 24, 2007, 20:05:10 PM
well shabba has been here for a week and now and is gettin more and more confident around us and also the dogs :wow:

the way he is we dont think he has had much human contact like the owners said he had  they said he was always playin with little girl who is 6 but the way he is sometimes when you stroke his head or even only goin to stroke him is mad....he attacks  :boxer:

he is loving at other times and also has been jumpin on settee more and curling up

will try and get pikkies now he isnt on window upstairs all time now

Aww, bless him - are you sure he is attacking and not playing Alison. They said he was very playful, maybe they encouraged him to play with hands and things, rather than toys. And he might just be doing it cos he isn't fully used to things and a bit wary of hands going near him.

Fingers crossed he settles down soon - sounds like he is warning you he doesn't want it though, some cats just dont like to be stroked a lot, but want to be near you.

Try some fishing rod type toys and toys on a string when he gets aggressive. Also get to know before he strats to attck and stop strokin him and playing with him close, use the distance type toys.

Some cats hate being stroked and touched a lot so they warn and if you dont take the hint quick they bite and scratch, my birmans always bite and no warning at all!
