I haven't had a chance to find out as Mosi is out for the count on my lap.  I think I will have to move him.  I cant bid properly with a cat on lap, let alone get my wine.

I now have my wine, am just giving Dave some treats to keep him going as his dinner time is far too close to auction end time.

I probably should be being a bit cautious financially too. but heck it is only once a year, and I will not be here to bid next year (unless folk are willing to post to OZ), so what they heck I say!!!

This is the exact excuse I am using. Posting to NZ will be a bit of a pain fro most and the cost will so much more than within the UK. I shall still donate in other ways, like the name a cat thing.

Mosi has just joined me to offer some feline assistance  ;D  When/if he budges I think I'll pour myself a glass.

It's very quiet at the  moment   :shify: :shify:

I'm concerned that the wine might slow me down and dull my bidding radar  ;D  I've just written a list of everything I'm top bidder on at the moment so that I can keep track as, unfortunately, I have to keep a bit of a reign on my spending this year.  I need to bit smart this year!  ;)

I have a bottle of red at the ready but don't want to start too early in case it impairs my bidding ability  ;D

same here but have already started - it will only affect my ability to put a limit to my bidding, and since the money is for T, that really is not too worrying ...

Snap! I haven't started yet either but that's mostly due to not wanting to move from under my warm blanket and I don't want to move Dave from keeping my legs warm.

As for capping my spending, I haven't even kept track of what I've been bidding on so I may be very hungry till I get my Christmas pay!

I find a door to door service better if you can get it. Mind, this time I will be collecting them from the airport when they finally get to Hobart, as they will have had quite enough shuffling around by that stage. Shadow can ride in the cab with me on the way home (did I mention I am buying a ute?) and the cats under the awning at the back (it will be a high awning) so that they are less stressed by noise and views. I can strap the crates down firmly so they are not moving about and put them on some foam for added shock-absorption.

so they are - are you using airpets - they seem pretty good from their website ... if not, who and why?

Maybe Airpets, Golden Arrow or Jets4pets. They all have good reviews so it will come down to cost in the end. Only problem with Golden Arrow is they do things the old fashioned way and as I'm going to be doing all the organising from NZ itself it could prove more trouble that it's worth. Depends how helpful whoever I convince to foster him is feeling  ;)

just remember the size of the crate dictates the size of the bill - so fat is not a good idea

Nope, step ahead of you there, cats are one size fits all price wise, I'm not daft. Mind you, they might change their mind if he's the size of a dog  :naughty:

Was about to say something similar BC, haven't been able to bring myself to log off all day!

Am now wondering how to play this tactically  :shify: And also wondering if I end up winning all the food I have bid on will Dave eat it before we emigrate  :evillaugh: Actually, he would happily work his way through it, it's more how fat I allow him to get  :evillaugh:

Teapots come out of the household budget which is much more generous than the personal budget   ;D

When I tried to log on  few minutes ago I got a 'server busy' messaage and I'm already noticing a slowing of response times.  Hope its just a coincidence and not a sign of things to come as we approach 7-0 pm.
I'm already busy packaging the lots I've auctioned and I've emptied my piggy bank to pay the postage
