Hey Jude was my full pedigree NFC, but she was an ex breeding queen of about 4 when I got her through the breed rescue, she was a long heavy cat, if I remember correct about 5 and a half kilos, the first time she came on my lap she turned on her back and stretched and she nearly touched the floor :naughty:, me hanging on for dear life so she didn't fall :evillaugh:, Emo is only half bred, she is about 5 kilos, also very long. She will be 7 July/August time. She was my Daughters, but I do seem to remember her being quite petite as a kitten.

The other thing about the NFC's not only can they come down trees headfirst they climb up like bears, forefeet, then hind legs coming up to nearly that point then forefeet again.

I don't know if that helps, :Luv: Mouse is a beauty, I love her 'eyeliner'.

Gill he's not, but he's an unmistakable NFC - he can climb down a tree head-first.  I think whilst he's a moggie his ancestry is way out there.

NOT BEING A FULL PEDIGREE WILL EXPLAIN HER SIZE AND IT DEPENDS AS SOMEONE ELSE SAID WHAT SHE HAS INHERITED FROM BOTH SIDES OF HER PARENTS,

NORWEGIIAN FOREST CATS ARE I BELIEVE THE SECOND LARGEST CAT TO THE MAINE COON. THEY DO TAKE 5 YEARS TO GET TO FULL SIZE AND ALSO FOR A PED WEDGIE THE COLD HELPS TO PRODUCE THE REALLY THICK LONG FUR AND THEY HATE THE HEAT.

YES SHE IS STILL VERY YOUNG AND HAS SOME YEARS TO GROW MORE AND IT DOESNT HAPPEN OVERNIGHT    THANK GOODNESS!

LUPIN IS A PED BIRMAN AND I DIDNT REALIZE THEY CAN BE MUCH BIGGER THAN NAPOLEON AND DUCHA. I THOUGHT HE WAS SMALL AND THEN MET ANOTHER AT THE VETS WHO WAS MUCH SMALLER. LUPIN IS A VERY STREAM LINED CAT AND VERY LONG, PURE MUSCLE AND WEIGHS IN AROUND 4GS I THINK. THE OTHER TWO WERE CHUNKIER AND EVEN MORE CUDDLY LOOKING.

YOUR MINI IS GORGEOUS AND SUSPECT SHE MAY GROW BIGGER BUT NOT TOO BIG  ;D ;D ;D

SUE I DIDNT KNOW THAT MORAY WAS A PED? WHAT BREED IS HE?

True.

It would be lovely if she kept on growing!!! She's such a sweetie. So gentle and precious. Not a lap cat though.

If she isn't a pedigree there is no way of knowing what her traits will be and how long it will take

Well she's not a full NFC, she's a mix. She has a very puffy thick tail. But she has fluffy eyes :) I'm not sure how much she weighs. She just very small and light :)  :Luv:

Moray's 3 and I would say is around fully grown at 3.5 kg but he's small for the breed and didn't have the very best of starts.  His ruff didn't develop until he was around 10 months.  The big giveaway for Moray were his paws, which are massive, and hugely powerful.

They tend to be fully grown about 3 and the girls are usually 4 - 6 kgs and the boys well they can be fluffy and Star is now 10 and varies between 8.7 and 7 6 kgs dependent on if he is in full coat - she doesn't look awfully fluffy so that will come the coats are the heavy part

they don't tend to reach full size until they are about 2 so she has time

Oh I thought NFC take up to 5 years to reach maturity

Happy new year to all ! A question re little bonnie (aka mouse)
« Reply #1 on: January 01, 2017, 10:16:58 AM »
Hi all.

Happy new year to everyone.

Question - anyone know how big a female Norwegian Forest Cat is suppose to be around 8 to 9 months old?

Bonnie is so small, even in terms of a regular cat. Well she seems it anyways. Everything about her is so petite. There's no information online about the usual weight and size. She's healthy enough and I also know NFC don't reach fully grown until 5 years of age, so could we be in for a shock and she will actually end up being huge?

We've nicknamed her mouse because she is so small. Any ideas?
