I tie mine back to the bookcase and wall, just in case. I think they are over it though, they just swat at some soft ornaments I put at the bottom to take away the urge to tree dive

My advice is just come to terms with the fact that you have a cat/cuddly monster in your life now and he can do what ever he wants to do ............. and you will let him  :naughty:  ;) :Luv2:

He does look adorable in that pic

Enjoy :naughty:

Our previous cat was not bothered in the slightest, she didn't pay any attention to it at all, the only thing she was ever interested in, was playing in the empty decorations box when it was out - she would chase her tail in it every year :)

my gang are pretty good, the tree went up last night and they had a bit of a sniff but don't care too much about it

Hurrah!! We still have a tree!!!!  :wow:

Laid awake listening for about an hour after we went to bed, but couldn't hear any destruction, so sleep won out in the end.

Was terrified coming down this morning, but the tree is still upright, and I can't see any signs of interference - all baubles seem in place and no light wires are dangling at odd angles!

Our furry pickle got loads of hugs and praise this morning bless him - soooo relieved!  :Luv2:

We suspected he was maybe going to be a pickle, but the full on 'leap and climb' so early on was a little bit of a surprise LOL!

He's mostly ignored it and only had a little go at it this evening, standing up at the bottom of the 'trunk' but a firm chorus of 'no!' and he backed down and just looked. It's going to be when we leave the room and go to bed that the trouble will begin!

I will freshly anoint it with satsuma peels before we go to bed and hope for the best.....

.....I'm going to be up in the middle of the night aren't I lol?!  :naughty:

Could you do some sneaky anointing with a Jif lemon? I know it puts mine off except Pippa who is annoyingly resilient, always has to be one exception to prove the rule, eh?

Christmas Tree tips....?
« Reply #1 on: December 18, 2016, 17:31:42 PM »
Ok, so it's our first Christmas with Buddy and today we put up the Christmas tree (artificial) and he immediately leapt into it. Twice.  :naughty:

He has since been a little calmer after we put the lights and minimal (plastic) baubles on and just had a little nibble at the bottom and actually is now asleep under the curtain that's behind it, but any tips for aversion therapy would be great LOL!

So far all we have tried is satsumas rubbed all over it, which possibly curbed the ascending urge.....?

So terrified he's going to leap up it at night :/ Our last cat was not interested in the slightest....
