I only joined yesterday after planning on joining for sometime. I'm so busy with the rescue I run that I have to squeeze things in inbetween everything.
I had mentioned a poorly kitten in my care who sadly is the remaning one out of a litter of 4 :( Their mom, Poppet, is very young and her kittens were very tiny. Two died within in a few days of birth weighing only 41g, while the third died last week aged 7 weeks after fighting of two chest infections and suffering from FCK syndrome. It's been a heartbreaking time for us all but then on Wednesday we had another blow when Precious, the remaining kitten sudenly had problems with her eye. I actualy think her mom caused the problem by playing too rough with her and throwing her around like a toy. Today she faced surgery to remove her eye :( I was terrified as she only weighs 564g at 8 weks old but she needed thos operation. Fortunately she was strong enough to come through it and she is back home with me now :) She's been playing and had some milk but is now sleeping after her traumatic day. Now she just needs to grow bigger, stronger and healthier and then she will be looking for a very special home x

Awww. Poor thing.
Hope she is doing well.
Many years ago we had a one eyed cat around our area. Scaredy cat but was leading a normal life.

so sorry for the slow reply. it's hectic here as usual and i'm trying to catch up with everything. Precious is doing really well. She has no fear whatsoever and runs riot with the other kittens here. Her stitches are slowly dissolving and she's looking great thankfully :)

Bless her, she will have no idea that she is different in any way, no grief for the loss of her eye, she will just get on with enjoying life - which is exactly as it should be ;D

I have heard that cats with one eye/ ear/ 3 legs etc usually get homed quicker as they are more endearing to people?! I am sure she wont be waiting long for the right home anyway! :Luv:
