Title: anxiety meds???
Post by: girlinleeds on December 09, 2018, 20:22:16 PM
Harris (3 years old) has always been nervy (ex semi feral kitten) but recently hes got loads worst. Now if anyone, person or cat walks near him when hes eating he stops and runs and hides. same if theres any noises, people talking, tv on etc. tried separating him from the others when feeding them but hes still not eating much, have tried loads of different food to tempt him including tuna but its the same he eats a few mouthfuls gets scared and runs away.  hes losing weight because of it, going to take him to the vet for a check up, but is there such a thing as anti anxiety drugs for cats?? Not sure what else to try

I use Zylkene when we have newbies it seems to take the edge off them, it is a natural product and can have good results, maybe some plug ins may also help x

If you use food in gravy adding a pump of Complivit food supplement can help with the calories - 1 pump equals a full days calories for a 4kg cat

This worked well for Silvie (RIP) when she was stressed out when we got a new rescue cat last year.

I use a combination of Feliway, RC Calm and Bephar calming treats for mine.

if you do use royal canin calm don't buy it from the vet, you can get it much cheaper online
