Title: Prinovox anyone tried?
Post by: alisonandarchie on February 06, 2019, 14:42:51 PM
Archie was on Comfortis but has just been prescribed Prinovox at his 6 month check up for fleas and worms

Just wondering if anyone has tried it :)

Not tried that Alison, but would be interested to learn how you get on with it.

JUST TO LET EVERYONE KNOW THIS TREATMENT IS WORKING WELL WITH aRCHIE AND NO ADVERSE REACTIONS.

IT IS GOOD THAT IT IS A WORMER TOO ;D

Is this an injection? Mine go for 6 monthly vet checks as part of the vet pet plan, they get the Advocate spot on drops and worming (Drontal). This would be far easier if it is one jab when they go anyway. Merlin doesn't talk to me for days when he is 'spot treated' although the palatable Drontal is not a problem.

ITS A SPOT TREATMENT PAULA. ARCHIE IS ON A MONTHLY VET PLAN TOO AND GET 6 TREATMENTS AT A TIME.

IT DOES NOT SEEM TO IRRITATE HIM LIKE SOME OF THE OTHER TREATMENTS

Alison, I'm glad the new stuff seems to be working well. Alf still has Advocate but Sky was given a 3 month spot-on flea treatment at the vet's last month. That will be much easier as she gives me a very wide berth for weeks after I treat her!

Thanks for the info Alison, a new vet is opening, literally at the end of the road in the old doctors surgery. I need to pop in and ask about prices, if they are reasonable for the dentals etc. I'll use them, far easier and less distressing for the cats who hate the car journey, but I'll ask about the Prinovax as well. :) Thanks again Honey. :Luv:

Paula the injection is Program and its 6 monthly and lasts the 6 months and covers fleas and ticks and one sort of worm, we use Milbemax as a wormer every 3 months or is Lava Bengals case monthly she is a born killing machine on mice and voles

Alf ate a whole mouse before bed last night - then was sick on our bed in the early hours!
