my 14 year old persian had a couple of teeth extracted recently.     we were worried about the anaesthetic but she was fine.    I'm sure he will be ok and be feeling much better afterwards x

He has to have teeth removed next week as his gums are inflamed and bleeding. They have been scaled and polished quite a few times and he had an extraction once before but this time there are a few to be removed.

The thing is he is old for an anaesthetist but the teeth won't improve. :(

Most of mine are fussy eaters and Ducha the 18yr birman only eats one fish pate food which I mix with water and it goes down much better but he is a grazer and has one or two licks and leaves it but then keeps going back.

Unfortinately little piglet Lupin often then hoovers up the food before Ducha gets back grrrrrrrrrrr.

Have you been to the vets and what did they say?

Hello

I know the feeling - ours has been a fussy eater for ages!

When she developed a liver issue recently, we had to keep her eating to stop it getting worse and the only way I could get her to eat anything was to cook a raw tiger prawn (she loves them) and then whizz it up with some hot water and some Applaws Chicken and Rice food. The smell of the prawn got her so excited she'd eat the lot. It wasnt very pretty - sort of like porridge LOL (and a bit pongy!) but it worked.

Might be worth trying something simlar if theres a treat food your little guy likes? Good luck though - I hope you get it sorted soon!

H

He wont get constipated if he is not eating.

I would try mixing his food with water, assuming he normally eats wet, this really helps .

He has been on Hills canned i/d for a long time now as well as roast chicken.

Well, I wouldn't panic till you have to!

Ours have off days when they barely touch anything and other days when they eat for England - just like us really!

Trouble is he gets constipated. He will stoop to have a wee but not a poo he sort of stands there hoping that without any effort it will drop out and if it does he races away as if his bum is on fire. Fortunately his poo is quite firm.

You can't change the world by rescuing one cat, but for that one cat you are changing its world.
