Apparently they arent allowed to put kittens in with nursing mums now, animal welfare incase the kittens pass something onto mum so all tiny kitts have to be handreared.

she rang this morning to say they'd all made it through the night although one little all black one does seem weaker than the rest but he is holding on so fingers crossed.

have managed to get em, they r tiny and have still got dried up umbilical cord dont know if this gives any indication of how old they are?? taking them to the cp woman now theyve took a feed though so thats good. will try aand get a photo to show u all before they go

Basically I said handrearing at such a young age needs an expert otherwise lungs in danger of being flooded, all else I said pretty much agrees with Angie.

What area are you in ? I`m sure you must be near to someone knowledgeable on Purrs.

The kittens and 'mum' need to be taken to a vet NOW. They will be able to determine if the dead cat is mum, keep the kittens warm and fed, or if cat is not mum, advise about what to do.

Food is important and equally so is warmth.

You shouldn't really delay with faffing round with rescues, that can be done once the kittens are safe - especially if you are thinking of maybe raising them.

Hand rearing is very hard work, not very successful and I would advise you to have someone to help so that you can get some rest in between, unless you are lucky enough to find a nursing mum.

Im going to get them now have been to vet and arranged for them to be checked over have got the feeding equipment now so i can feed em before they get to vet. The CP people arent answering phone atm so im doing a dash from work while i keep trying them. Hopefully get there in time. will update as soon as i can

No kittens need to be fed every 2 hours with Simicat or equivalent, best bet phone CP and see if the have a nursing MUm and get them to her asap as they need to be warm and fed at that age or get to a vets asap

Friend rang this morning and said he had 5 kittens in a run down car in his garage dont think there much more than a day old but had found what he thinks is the mum dead on the road. Im planning on hand rearing but i cant get them from him til about 6 tonight do you think they'll survive that long without a feed?????
