Up to now and it was a different vets but have had problem with both birmans after dental surgery in that neither would eat at all!

Lupin is now calm but lying in Duchas cage, which is not going down well with Ducha LOL

When Jaffa had his dental about 5 years ago, he came home and ate for England.  I think it was a combination of the anaesthetic and the fact that he hadn't eaten for a while.  So yes it's normal imo.

Ketamine. It can cause hallucinations in higher doses (anaesthetic), but is used as an analgesic in lower doses. It is also used commonly in children to induce anaesthesia. I am using it more in the patients I am looking after in intensive care.

My Delphi had it in a drip post op before coming home and she was a bright as a button following what I thought was quite major surgery and it certainly did affect her appetite in a good way.

Thanks.....I am being attacked for food and just rung the vets......apparently the thing that stays in the system for a while is catomine sp? it can give hallucinations.

He is really going crazy for food and vet nurse said the worse thing that can happen is he will eat so much he will be sick but if he still the same tomorrow I will need to get in touch.

So he has just devoured another half pouch but that wasnt enough and he is now having the other half........dont know if this is 3  or 4 now

He is not eating so quickly now so maybe he is getting full........oh and he also has had some ham! and my hand!

I remember Korky having a dental and the vet sending him home with instructions that he could have a small, light meal.  Korky had other ideas.   :rofl:

Yes its quite normal.

its probably the after effects of the general anaesthetic.

My Bridge baby Maddy got through 3 bowls of food the evening after she had all her teeth out.

My recent Bridge baby Delphi ate 3 bowls of Cod following removal of a mammary tumour.

I wouldn't worry.  :hug:

Lupin was neutered today and had no food from midnight.

He has had two or is it three pouches since 1900 but he is going crazy for food.....is this right?
