thanks for asking.     He has been off the antibiotics for a few days now.   He's discovered bouncy balls and keeps on wanting to play with them so keeps on sitting by them in the hope i'll play with him!      He's eating loads and I'm sure he has had a bit of a growth spurt since he's been home, so I think he is doing just fine at the moment!

Thanks both, yes I'm taking it as good news even though his lymph nodes were still enlarged.     It may go all horribly wrong still, but I'm not worrying about him at moment as he is so well and enjoying life.      I think tears at vet's earlier in week was caused by PMT, as always get hit by tears/depression at such time, and started period today.    He has been out in the run a couple of times and probably out of all of the cats seems to enjoy it the most, and loves the assualt course!.

That's good news isn't it? If he's well in himself and not showing any signs of being poorly then the high levels could just be 'one of those things' and unexplainable?

Just spoken to Kate and she has had the result from the aspirate which came back negative. There was no signs of granulomas {sp???}, it just confirmed that the nodes were swollen.      We've agreed as he is still so well that once the ABs are finished that we will just see what happens. If he then becomes ill then we may consider doing a biopsy. Feel that there is no point going down that route at the moment.

Will try and get some pics of the run over the weekend

Thanks for everyone's support.

Gill you can't but enjoy Karlo, if you could put sunshine into a cat that would be Karlo.     He is the colour of gold and has the happiest disposition of any cat.      I just see him and break out into a smile.      He sees me and collapses at my feet wanting belly rubs [assuming he isn't wanting his food!].

thanks you all for your thoughts.       Have been trying to take my mind off of it by building their out door assault course.     (They are getting an outdoor run tomorrow, so will be allowed out for the first time).      Ginger will be the first cat over the threshold.      Followed by Kyrre [as he is a pain in the bum and wants to be outside].      I suspect Karlo will be the next!       I just hope they like it!

yes that it what I am telling myself Gill, but I know when we had Omar our cat with FIP his symptoms would come and go.    I feel really bad now as when Karlo first came I kept on calling him Omar, and we lost Omar probably 10 years ago.

I know its hard to think of anything else other than FIP - in the light of the raised titres, but don't foreget, if he's fighting coronavirus I expect his lymph nodes probably would still be swollen. The fact that he still seems well, is eating and is happy in himself is a huge positive I'd say.

feel absolutely devastated. Took karlo for his scan and his lymph nodes are still swollen. Kate did a fine needle aspirate [correct sp????} and will get the result back in a couple of days. Depending on the result may then need to do a biopsy. He still seems incredibly well and he came back and demanded food and cuddles in no real order. He has yet more AB's. I was in tears at vets I keep on coming back to FIP. Trying so hard to be positive but finding it so hard.

Thanks both, I'm not worrying as much as I thought I would.      I'm hoping he's going to follow lovely Gwynnie's example.         He's still bright as a button and eating for England!

However his coronavirus titres were high [1000].       Vet still doesn't think is FIP as he seems so well., and she said she wouldn't of expected him to respond so well to the medication.      However she said as a disease it ebbs and flows.        She also said that it is more common in situations like mine, pedigree, multicat and young cats so it could still be.         They are going to scan his abdomen on Monday to see what the lymph nodes are like.

Try not to worry, (easier said I know  ). Gwynnie's titres were 2,500 and my vet said exactly the same about it being more common in young pedigrees and multicat etc etc - it seemed almost a given that she had FIP - but that was nearly 4 yrs ago. She also responded well to the meds and has been fine ever since.

Thanks everyone.      Well just back from vet's Karlo's temperature was normal and he has put on lots of weight.      He still is extremely bright, playful etc.        He was still quite wriggly when Kate was feeling his abdomen though.       How much of this was due to discomfort and how much was due to him wanting belly rubs was not clear!        Asa he was desperate for cuddles.

Hi thanks for asking no we didn't get the result on Friday and are still waiting.       His temperature was still slightly on the high side of normal on Saturday so he has an extended course of AB.     We have to take him back down on Friday.          He seems totally back to normal now which is a huge relief!

Thanks very much

Update:  we've just brought him back home!!!!! His temperature has come down and he doesn't seem as uncomfortable in his abdomen. We've not had the result of the FIP back yet [it will be Friday apparently] but the vet is still saying that she thinks it isn't FIP. He is walking ok as well. We've got to try and get a fecal sample from him. He is booked in at our normal vets tomorrow and Saturday to make sure his temperature is still ok. He went into cuddle/purr overdrive on the way back home and went straight to the food bowl when he got back.       Sadly the others gave him a bit of hard time as he obviously smells a bit strange.      But things are back to normal now.      We've got loads of meds for him to take as well. He seems a lot happier generally than he had been for a few days prior to his going to the vets.

feeling a lot more positive about my liger tiger

Thanks for asking about him.    Well spoke to another vet today.    Little man is still at the hospital charming all he meets, and is still eating etc.     She said that his temperature had come down briefly only to go back up.    The lymph nodes in his pancreas are still swollen.       They were still waiting for test results to come, some of them may come back today but FIP will be tomorrow they think.     I got the feeling she was a bit more negative about it not being FIP, so I pressed her about it a bit more and she says if he has it it will be the dry version.      Its just a waiting game at the moment and although I'm ok at moment I keep on getting upset.

Meanwhile his sister looks like she is getting diarrhoea again, so she is going back to see our vet tomorrow.
