she was going to keep her and was thinking of mating her.  But she is wanting to focus on her somali cats, so is rehoming the bengals.

you'd think bengals would be bigger as a medium sized cat but they are small and slinky.  Although they aren't light in weight lol

All I could hear last night was thud wollap bang, thud............went down stairs this morning thinking the wost but the house is looking good.  Honey was on my bed last night, felt her jump up but her take off to jump onto something higher made the bed shake  :-:

Wow, she's lovely isn't she. I'm sure things will settle down quickly, Mum might be a bit wary if Aurora is in danger of coming into season, as this could spark the Alpha female argument.  :)

I have a similar reaction to children, and a tendency to head for the door  :evillaugh:

I too suffer from this....although i do try to keep the spitting to a minimum  :shify: :shify:

I think Honey will be fine  ;D and great advice from Sheila & Gill too :)
Shes bonded with you, so shes feeling safe in general and once Aurora arrives  (shes gorgeous btw :drool; :drool; and will be lovely for them both to be together  ;D) Honey might just feel a little less on edge as the familiarity of her daughter could mean they will feed off each others confidence  :)
Also the Little Humans could just give her a treat when they see her and do the playing with the Da Bird and she will associate them with positive things  :) but as she is spending more time in the same room before running for the hills, I think its just a matter of time  ;D

I love the photos of her outside  ;D ;D she looks so confident and happy too  ;D ;D
You're doing a grand job  :) x

Beth, you're a diamond.  ;D

I'd let Aurora have a few days with her Mum first, though, as she'll smell funny when she's been to the vet and won't be up to defending herself against any adverse reactions from Honey, so best to let them get re-acquainted before the Op.  :catplay2:

When is she coming?

I don't think you should worry too much about ethics in this case Beth, these two weren't going to be bred from (again) so are a kind of rescue.  :you go girl:

I know loads of ex-breeding queens get dumped and end up in rescue, you're just cutting out the middle man. At least now you've agreed to take Aurora they won't be tempted to try her with one litter, so you've stopped at least one set of kittens reaching the market.

No, well done you, I think you're brilliant and hope the beautiful Aurora is as happy as her Mum will be to see her.

Does this mean the kids get one each ?  :)

Couldn't agree more.  They're both beautiful girls - can't say I blame you for losing your heart to them.   :Luv2:

lol Honey is still coming round to the little human idea.  she's sat in the  front room with them this morning without hissing for about 20 mins, then strolled off.  The kittten is like a cannon ball, more like the kids will be keeping her entertained lol

She's called aurora, this is her;

I know some people are against buying from breeders but her mummy was needing a new home and as her baby isn't too happy and honey would like the company, figured it was best as an all rounder

Cat fever has taken over, I'm getting honey's kitten this weekend!

How do you think she'd react? She would have been away from her baby for 6 days by this point but her kitten is around 6 months old and they were joined at the hip!

Another bit of advice to add to Sheilas, try putting a cardboard box or boxes with a cat size hole that she can rush in if she feels scared

Sound advice Sheila.  Its very early days, and as you already recognise, she's had her world turned upside down with unfamiliar things, place and people.

It would be strange for us so  its no different for them, except they didn't know it was going to happen, whereas you and your family did.
I have a similar reaction to children, and a tendency to head for the door  :evillaugh:

She looks very comfy in her new bed and its great that she's chatting away to you already.   :)   Bet you're well chuffed.    :Luv:

thank you for the advice, much appreciated.

The kids approach her quietly and as soon as she hisses, they move away and she trots ooff.  When there is a stair gate inbetween her and the kids, she is fine  and when the kids dangle her 'dabird' over the gate, she plays and forgets her issues for a minute or so

She is attached to me, as soon as she hears me get up in the morning, she runs upstairs and greets me with her vocal ability and a cuddle.  She loves snuggles and playing.  She doesn't use her claws in rough play and she adores belly rubs!

Beth, a bit of spitting is natural, she needs time to adjust to your kids and as she's out of her comfort zone at the moment will still be feeling a tad phased by it all.  :scared:

When I moved in with OH, Pursley didn't like me at all, and was quite angry with me for weeks. I had to ignore her spitting and hope her temper improved, which it did, and once she'd got to realise I was actually quite free with the cat treats she took a different view and is now very friendly.

Give it time, and ask the kids to keep the noise down and walk away when she starts being defensive, eventually she'll come around.  :)

She is just the prettiest little thing, so pleased for you both.  ;D

Got a slight issue, she's not happy around the kids, even when the kids are quiet.  She growls and hisses, she doesn't strike but runs off to her little place.  She was fine with the kids when we went to see her  :scared:

Figured she just needs to get use to them, I'm under no illusion, I think she will eventually tolerate them until they are older.  It makes me want her daughter even more now, so that she has that companion to keep her company.

She seems to have bonded with me straight away, she loves to play, curls up with me, endlessly talks to me

  no encouragement needed

I took her out for a little stroll, what with the humidity  and I thought that if she could get a quick sniff and mark out her small territory, she might calm down the vocal part lol  it worked, she's as quiet as a mute mouse!
