well said sheila  :)

So pleased about Sweep!  :narna dance: and as Sheila said Furdie deserves a  :narna dance: too as he is proving that despite what the Green Peeps say he's a happy lad, fighting fit  ;D

I think I agree, good on ya Sweepie  :narna dance:

As for Furdie, take every good day as a bonus.

None of us really know how long we've got, so let's be happy for him too  :chicken:

So pleased Sweepys tests were good and sorry about Furdie

While Furdie is bushy tailed and bright eyed he is doing good and hope he will defy the vet and the results for a long time

Sorry it has taken me so long to get back, but things have been fairly chaotic recently

My one piece of good news is that Sweepy's blood test results came back saying that his creatinine has come back down within the limits stated as the Reference Interval, although his urea is still high.

I know its only a little thing, but I still think it deserves one of these  :yayyy:

I am also a little worried that his sodium (Na) and potassium (K) levels are also high, although the vet seemed to think that these were less important  :scared:

This is all still very new to me, so I need to do some more investigation into what it all means.

Unfortunately, Furdie's results all came back worse than last time.  The vet said that this was to be expected.  Jim and I still can't believe it because even now he is so bright eyed and bushy tailed - so full of life  :scared:

:thanks: for all your lovely comments.

Sweepy and Furdie have just been for check up blood tests at the vet tonight.  It has been 3 months since the last test for Sweepy and one month for Furdie.  We hope to get the results back on Monday.

Please wish us luck that the results are no worse than the last set for both of them  :scared:

A Little Sweepy Update
« Reply #1 on: April 26, 2012, 23:33:35 PM »
Sweepy was booked in for his annual check up and vaccinations on 11th January this year, and we had been worried because he was starting to drink a lot more than usual.  A blood test was done which showed that he was suffering from kidney failure  :scared:

In the months since then, Sweepy has been on Fortekor tablets and renal diet food.  He has been such a good boy, taking his tablets, and he is the only one on a diet who is actually eating the proper food  :wow:

As Sweepy has been out on quite a few walks with Furdie recently I just wanted to post a few recent pics:
