Thanks all :shy:
Paceys a bit down in the dumps as on meds and a chicken diet so think hes peed off as normally he has constant acess to food. The vet said his anal glands feel blocked but didnt express them, she said to try him on a full protein diet and antibiotics and see how he does on that.

sure once he gets over the trauma he will be back to normal though, he was sat up on his hind legs patting my knee meowing yesterday..for more chicken so think hes aquired the taste now :innocent:
he is a good boy though and thankfully no more scooting bum :wow:

Hope the scooting is nothing to worry about

oooo yes!! Stunning!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D I agree with the Top Hat and Cane, Mittens  :) definitely a sophisticated fellow, who I imagine, secures the finer things in life with just one look at his Meowmi and Daddi  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

i think its when he gets poop stuck to his fur as hes just been and totally fine now , hes been wormed etc but its not the first time so think its best he gets checked out to be sure as read persians can have problems with anal glands?
hes definately a dapper fellow now, he probs would love to be in adverts as he loves attention :innocent: i could imagine him dancing with a cane and top hat

aww, its lovely when they're so affectionate isnt it? Peanut is still a little fuss pot - but with Nuggie the affection starts and ends when he decides  :evillaugh:

Like miyagi, my cats look at me like that when i have the bare faced cheek to serve them Tesco's own or other such similar poisoned foods...

oh Shiela

worm and flea treatments next :'(

Georgia is the one to watch with pills as she pretends to eat them but strolls off to deposit them somewhere, miyagi is generally ok! Pacey is about to have his first worm pill off me so we shall see :scared:
Im hoping the fact that he loves food will go in my favour however as georgia will pinch any food yet still detect a tablet hidden, im not holding up much hope :shify:

Pacey actually has fur to wash now anyway so it is growing and hopefully i wont have to bathe him again for a bit as i dont do it in between flea treatments if i can help it.

as to the tetnus shots mentioned in that thread..god knows when i last had one :scared:

Pacey has just had a bath so resorted to true cat behaviour, clawing his way up my arm ,jumping onto my head then onto my back
I had to shampoo him out of bath then put him back into rinse quickly...hes now a lot cleaner and grumpier than an hour ago :innocent:

willow suggested bathing miyagi next, i suggested talc grooming instead. I don need any more scratches :-:

Pacey is now known to oh as prince harry :innocent:
oh said pacey thought he was royalty and thought he should be called prince charles, i said i didnt think prince charles was as demanding a character...prince harry seems much more appropriate :evillaugh:

pacey is contantly attached to oh, if he sits down, hes there, if he stands up...hes there....he deigns to sleep on my bed but he is very much ohs cat now :innocent:  Pacey has however got closer to oh than most people do in years so he must have special magical cat powers

Jo, have you tried the Mikki Matt Buster comb? (Not the splitter - that's different).

Gillian recommended it for me when Chubby's fur was matting but I use it on all of them and it works a treat. It looks a wee bit dangerous but really makes light work of combing out longer fur. Tufty's tail gets tangles and the Matt Breaker just whistles through, the blades cut instead of tugging so it's a much less bothersome process all round.

I bought two and turned the head round on one so I have both left and right handled combs for twisty turny cats.

They are £15 usually but there's one on ebay at the moment for a fiver.

thanks :shy:
cazz thats exactly what i used on him! combined with a comb, it wasnt runny poo, it was thick, clumped in so thankfully it wasnt all over..willow my daughter was at college ....normally she helps ie one of us holds and stokes him and other does the combing. he hasnt dont it before so presume he had a bit of a disaster in the litter tray maybe
hes ok now bless him thankfully.

i think he may end up going to a groomers when his fur grows back in as he hates his tail being done and it upsets us both, hes ok with his head though  :innocent:

Pacey was sweet though as they had some treats and he was reaching up trying to catch the treat with his paws together and he looked so cute, not like georgia who was howling leaping through the air

Poor Pacey hope it doesn't happen too often as it is not nice.     having had 14 or so persians over the past 20 years and at one stage or other have had to do most of their trousers, i know.

I tend to use pet wipes to get the worst off and comb it out, cats are normally happy to finish off themselves

I do know of people who use this though and say its very good.      I've got some but have not had call to use it yet

Jo, poor Pacey. Pooey bums and fluffy trousers are not a good combination.  :(

I was just reading poor Gillian (Ambercat)'s thread that she'd been stood up by one of her clients - she's a professional cat groomer.

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,40673.0.html

Now I'm reading this one thinking - if only you lived closer to one another! Maybe you could get some pooey-trouser advice on her thread?
