Title: Cat with catarrh?!?
Post by: gilly on November 29, 2006, 14:50:29 PM
Newbie here!   :hi:

My 15 year old cat has suddenly developed what sounds like catarrh.  She has no other symptoms of a cold or anything like that.  Her breathing is completely normal when she's lying down or sleeping but when she gets up to walk around it sounds like she's trying to clear her throat.

She's eating and drinking as normal and doesnt sound in any way distressed.  Vet appointment on Friday but I thought I'd ask!  :thanks:

If it were my cat I would try to take the little one immediately, if it is something a couple of days earlier on antibiotics or some other treatment could make a huge difference.

Thanks Ela, the vet seemed perfectly happy for her to come in on Friday.  I'm hoping its just something minor.  Lost another of my cats not so long ago, would be devastated if another went in the same year.  The horrible part of owning pets I guess.

Well if your vets happy I suppose that will have to be good enough. It is just me, I always air on the side of caution and would have took mine.
