Health & Behaviour General / Re: Kidney food help
« Last post by Desley (booktigger) on September 17, 2023, 09:31:44 AM »
Lucy has stopped eating renal wet food, but is fine with renal dry food, so she has that for tea, her wet food is a mix of senior and adult, and her numbers are fairly stable. Honestly, I would just feed her what she is happy to eat, yes, renal food is better, but I'd rather them have less time and be happy than make them unhappy forcing food they don't like on them to buy them extra time.

Health & Behaviour General / Kidney food help
« Last post by Kate S on September 17, 2023, 06:50:09 AM »
I have tried every type of kidney food fromm Zooplus but Susan will not eat it. She even runs and hides if offered it! The vet says she must eat this  or add the binding agent onto her food. Needless to say I have tried powder and liquid. She is not a lap cat and hates being picked up so I can't administer through her mouth. I've been giving her senior food and look for low protein content .Susan was not well yesterday and the vet gave her an anti nausea jab and I have Olimaprazole for possible inflamed intestine. A new blood test is due on Wednesday. I feel guilty every time I go to the vet as I can't get her to eat the special food. I have a cupboard of the stuff! Any suggestions?

Hi Sootyca,

What a lovely tribute to Sky.  I'm so sorry for your loss it's so hard when these special little souls leave us ... I didn't think the pain ever really goes away it just moves to a quiet corner and emerges less often

It's strange how so many of us still come back to Purrs to remember our babies ... testiment to the site and the friends made here.

Take comfort from knowing you did everything and more for Sky and her love for you was clear.

RIP Sky, play hard at the bridge and know you were loved beyond measure xxx
