Liz I know no matter what I say it will not ease how you are feeling inside and the rollercoaster of emotions you are going through every day with Dillon.  I have not been here due to my Sophie needing my attention more and sadly it has taken until now after I lost her in October last year after she battled on for 30 months with CRF. I am sat here crying as I remember what it feels like to loose a cat to cancer.

I know what mental torment you are going through and the feeling of feeling so helpless to help your Dillon, how you will feel when he is asleep wondering if he will wake up and then when you see him playing the forgetting for just a few seconds what the inevitable will be, the pain of seeing your boy gradually getting thinner and him losing his appetite.  Believe me you will get through this and do the best for your Dillon no matter how painful that decision will be.  All I will say is look at the overall quality of life of Dillon and my heart goes out to you at this time as I have lost a cat to cancer and would never wish it on my worst enemy to have to go through that.  My love and very gentle hugs to Dillon who is obviously not feeling ready to leave you yet

Quick update, Dillon is still with us after another couple of injections on Thursday.  He is very thin now, and jaundiced but still lively enough to chase leaves round in the garden  I know we are on borrowed time, but vet said he had forgotten how much of a fighter he is.  We are just making his last few days as comfortable and special as possible x

I am so sorry to hear such sad news. I hope these twilight times are filled with love and her path to the bridge will be gentle when the time comes. I'm sure she will be gifted with a last sparkling burst of life to say her goodbyes. It has been a wonderful shared journey I'm sure.

So sorry , words just aren't enough at times like this . Bungly had liver cancer and had 7 months from being diagnosed ,she was only 9and a half . Treasure what time you have .

Members who were on here a few years ago may remember my brave Dillon who was shot then ripped his cruciate ligaments apart a couple of months later, well it seems that my brave soldier is finally going to be beaten by a tumour on his liver. Exactly a week ago we had to say goodbye to Tom our rescue, Saturday was the 2 year anniversary of Digby (Dillon's littermate) going to the bridge, and now the vet has given Dillon days as an aggressive mass seems to have invaded liver and also blocked up his bowel.  He has been given a massive cortisone injection and I have been assured he is unlikely to be in pain, just feeling nauseas. We have an appointment booked for Thursday to give us a little more time with him and am not sure how I will function knowing what the inevitable outcome will be.  Dillon is nearly 15 now and I have had him since an 8 week old bundle of naughtiness, I cannot put in words how devastated I feel. x
