Well she looks like she owns it :-P

:evillaugh: She definitely does own it.... :shify: along with everything else in the house!  :-[

Glad she's OK, and hope she has learnt a rather painful lesson  :'(

You can see how big she is already with that pic on the sofa - sorry I forget how old is she now??

Time will tell Emmy!  i'm hoping her memory isnt short

;D shes 7 1/2 months now! dont know where the time has flown to  :-[ she is so very long! (see below pic, of very grown up looking Evie! - and this was taken before the last one lol) but to me she's still so tiny and squeaks like a kitten!!  :Luv: :Luv:
The long and short of it, is she just has me wrapped her paw
I'm looking forward to all her fur coming through  :) she has the fluffy tail, trousers and belly and shes starting to get a mane so few months and she'll look like nuggie  :evillaugh:

:thanks: :thanks: everyone for the well wishes and advice

I am pleased to say the Evie has made a full recovery and that her paw resumed normal size pretty much by morning!  ;D She is back to her normal self and I dont think she has any long lasting effects or nightmares  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

I was horrified when the leg had swelled so much  :scared: Is this normal?

Yep, not trying to 'out-do' Evie's comedy paw (as it's a very respectable size  :naughty: ) but Riley's go mahoosive  If Riley is anything to go by it will still be quite swollen in the morning but by 24 hours it should be noticeably smaller.

I took Riley to the vets the first time it happened as I'd not had a cat who was stung before and erred on the side of caution. I now apply the 'Child/A&E/Doctors >>> Cat/Out of hours vet/normal hours vet' test - eg if this was a child would I be taking them to A&E or the Doctors ? For a sting on the hand or foot my answer to that would be No but I hadn't developed my Child/A&E/Doctors test at that stage! If either of them were stung anywhere near the throat or mouth I would defo be going straight to the vets but I now know that paws are nothing to be too worried about

Thats Great Advice Helen  ;D ;D
I didnt think to use that technique - which I'm sure will save many pennies in vet fees!!  ;D I try not to be over cautious but sometimes you wonder what to do for best  :-[ so thanks! I'll remember that  :)

omg! poor Riley!! and I thought Evies Paw was horrendous! Either the wasps are worth the pain or he has a very short memory  :evillaugh: as I suspect that Evie may well be a case of once stung twice shy

Here she is recovering from the trauma  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

Good advice there Helen.  You may be putting our vets out of business though bearing in mind the number of visits we have had this year  :innocent:

Poor little Evie  :Luv2:

I remember when I was a teenager, our dog was stung by a bee or a wasp and I remember pulling the sting out of her lip - her lip was really swollen but went down by morning and she was ok.

Hope she's ok in the morning.  Also hope she's had some Dreamies  ;)

Thanks everyone

She has taken her paw to the top of the cat tree where she is feeling suitably sorry for her self, bless her  :Luv2:

Thanks for that Helen  I will give the vet a ring and make sure, but anything to help her. Her paw looks like a badly fitted false leg!  :-:
Judging by her sorrowful face, she's learnt a harsh lessen...but time will tell - she may end up like Riley yet  :shy:

I was horrified when the leg had swelled so much  :scared: Is this normal?
Tazi was stung on the chin and that was big, but with it being the mouth area he was taken straight to the vets & given anti-inflammatary etc so although he had a huge chin, it as nothing to this extent  :-[
But vet did not think she needed immediate treatment, as she wasnt showing signs of allergic reaction or anything like that.

Bless her

Awww bless her, the 'comedy paw' :care:

Hopefully she will now learn that stripy buzzy things are to be left well alone, sadly my Riley never did and has been stung more times than I can count  :shy:

When it first happened to Riley I took him to the vets where he got an anti-inflammatory jab and a tip for if (when  :tired:) it happened again. Piriton (not piriteze) is very good for reducing sting swellings - if you happen to have any in do check with your vet over the phone just to be doubly sure but my vet advised half a Piriton tablet (2mg dosage) per adult cat but as Evie is just a youngster she may need a lesser dosage.

Poor Evie Von Squeaks  :'(

A wasp flew in and before I had chance to stop her she was stung  just one swipe to the wasps backside changed her secure life forever! She is nervous, hurt, lame, very very swollen and doesnt know what to do with her little self.

I have done all the treatments and did vinegar/water mix to try and counteract the alkerline of the sting (as told by vet) and just have to wait and see if swelling goes down.... but really, I have never seen a cat so sad!!

Evie and her new Lions Paw
