Thank you for the support and I hope Gillian will keep this item on here cos as we all know she does some outstanding portraits of cats and its a very valuable item.

It has justifiably got a high bid and if we can get it to go even higher that will be wonderful.

I do not want to see Gillian being upset any more and therefore would be very grateful for no more posts on this thread unless its a bid within the spirit of this auction.

Twofold in the spirit of raising loads of money for Lesley and her rescue and  having loads of fun on  live auction once a year here on Purrs  ;D ;D

So once again I announce that today , now

:auction 2:

is Willow £37    ;D#

but for a proffessional pet portrait you would pay up to £80. so it is a good price.

And the rest, I know some  that are over £300

I know this in nothing to do with the auction.. But i have been looking to have a portrait of my Leo or Bella to be done just before the auction started.. So to me this is twofold... gives money to charity, cat related and also its something i very much wanted in the first place.

So i will be bidding on this but not until payday... But its very kind of Gillian to put this up as it probably takes ages to do...

Sorry about the blurb here...

No disrespect to Gillian. but for a proffessional pet portrait you would pay up to £80. so it is a good price.

Unfortunately I cant afford to bid on this, I am spending much too much money  :'(, but I think it is a fab item and very kind of you to do it in your own time for the auction. So leave it on  :P   :Luv2:

cc this is an auction and if you want to kill off the opposition you bid a big amount and sit back and hope nobody will out bid you..........Ela may come back if she wants it more than anyone else but she has 9 days to do that in.

Please take this off forum now

Thank you  ;D

Yes I do know Gill, but why has someone bid so high then not bid again? Fair enough it's worth it but I'd say a lot of people would of bid from the start if someone did not go and spoil it for everyone else and maybe it would of had a bit of competition and got more than last year.  ;D

There have been lots of bids on this cc and I know last year this item went for over £40, it is up to each person to bid as they see fit and the one that bids highest will win.

Afraid thats how auctions work  ;D

So is Ela planning on winning this as I dont think it fair for her to shot the bid up and then not carry on with it, not fair on other peeps when it should of started low and more would of bid.

I know its for a very good cause but I dont think much more will go on that as it's started so high.

I would love one but not starting at 37, so really there is no competition as people will see the price and think I'm not starting at that.  :shy:

I meant to say - sorry, but I wouldnt be able to get the portrait finished before Christmas, just in case you were thinking that - I'm sure you guessed anyway though, that these things can't be rushed!  ;D (although won't be as long as I've taken with Helen's, I promise, promise, promise LOL!) I'll also need to work from good, clear, sharp, close up (if poss) photos that, most importantly, show a lot of detail, particularly of the eyes.

OK - continue!!

A pastel portrait of your cat painted in soft, smudgy pastels on velvet paper, which has a lovely textured effect for fur. Will be mounted, ready for you to frame. Oh, and I promise not to take as long with it as I have with Helen's (and she still hasnt got it yet, although it IS finished and getting ready to send - well there's been a lot going on recently LOL!)

Anyway here's a couple of examples, Elsa of course you've prob already seen a lot LOL! and one I've nearly finished (just needs whiskers!)
