If you have garden beds out there, and use a biodegradeable litter, I would be mulching with litter tray contents for a while (though scooping out the solids) as that will mark their territory quite well I would think.

Lyla used to poo in the neighbours garden and so did other cats, but she got blamed for it all

You will end up with turd war if you put the boys bits out there too, our gravel gets used quite alot and iv seen tabitha use it too and it had no effect what so ever, just more for me to scoop

I don't have an outdoor tap so sprinkler is out! I'm going with the scooping Lu/Riley poo if I find anymore, that'll show the new cat who's boss

Besides, you probably don't want them on the front lawn anyway - too close to traffic ...

Don't Lucas and Riley get out time though? Suppose it could be turned off for then. (We have visiting cats, and are trying to think of ways to make the garden a bit less interesting to them and failing spectacularly.)

It's a territory thing I believe - they don't cover up to try and claim the area. Then another comes along and does the same. Two of the culprits round here are females as well (both neutered). Lilly used to be a devil for not covering up her offerings in the litter tray - Robbie would always go in after her to do the cover up!

I have the biggest problem with cats pooping - on the front garden, drive and back garden. It is disgusting. Nothing I've tried works and I can never catch them in the act to shoo them away. The front is either a tortie, tabbie & white or a long haired b&w. The back is anyones guess .. I think a massive tabbie, black, chinchilla coloured one and possibly others. On top of that a new cat has appeared .. Looks about 4 months old and is a black long hair.

I just can't believe that any self respecting cat would poo on a lawn

If the boys ever use the great outdoors (back garden) they always seem to take great delight in digging and burying it!

I think it a good idea to deposit some of the boys poop to show him he has competition and not to use your garden, just make sure no one see's you though cos if he has pooped in anyone else's they may think it was you!

I've just mowed the front lawn for hopefully the last time this year and was

to find 4 or 5 'deposits' on the lawn. I'm fairly sure it's a cat as I'm at the end of a cul-de-sac so no dogs come through, other than my neighbours dogs who are a) well controlled and wouldn't dream of pooing on someone elses lawn and b) much bigger than the creature who I suspect left the deposits!

As gross as it sounds is it worth scooping some of the boys' poos onto the lawn to show the offender that they 'own' the front lawn and to clear off? I've lived here 18 months now and never seen another cat out the front until last week so I suspect it was the new cat on the block!
