Title: stroke
Post by: catsrbest on September 20, 2017, 13:14:17 PM
Just want to let everyone know my Akulina, who had a stroke last Fri., is doing very well.  Went to the Vet. Tue.  Vet was so amazed. She didn't think she would make it. So, I am giving her 1/4 baby aspirin every third day. My Vet. didn't think steroids would do her any good. Would appreciate input in regard to using steroids. She does have quite an enlarged heart????  Lungs are clear. No sign of blood clot in lungs.  Thanks to all for your support.

Has your vet okay'd the aspirin? I'm sure I read somewhere that these will kill a cat. Might be worth checking with your vet.

when our cat Moses (RIP) was ill last year, vet told us to give him 1/2 an aspirin per day to prevent clots. We ddn't give them to him in the end tho.

VERY cautious use of aspirin can help prevent clots.  Listen to your vet.

Sending you and your lovely girl every good wish
