Oliver can leap quite high in the air while playing, then quite often manage to land flat on his bum, instead of on his paws like every feline is supposed to do... does that count as a "special skill"?? :evillaugh:

Riley is an ace flycatcher - I've seen him leap 4 ft off the floor, and even do back-flips to get them! We think he's some sort of ninja-cat, as he can literally pluck them out of the air one-pawed :wow:
He will also "waaa" at me if the fly is too high for him (on the wall or roof), until I pick up up so he can reach!  he has me well trained....
He has also learned to chase pigeons away from our window feeder, but leaves little birds alone! ;)

Just remembered another one ( because Misty did it again today ) there was the time when he was little He climbed
up me all the way to my chest I felt every claw cause i was only wearing my Boxer shorts at the time
But as he started to learn how to jump onto thing's He also did it to me
If I came home from work and he'd be wanting attention, but was too busy to give Him any, He'd Jump iether onto
my Back or chest :wow: :evillaugh: it was annoying at times if you were speaking to someone on the phone, and he's
at your feet making these pittiful meowing noises, then all of a sudden he'd jump you  :evillaugh:
this morning went out to pick OH up from her work and ended up with a flat tyre, put on spare but by the time I
got to OH workplace she was already gone (got a lift from someone else) So I came in the door and I'm standing
there telling her about puncture, need a new tyre when "Bang" Misty's jumped up onto my chest again :wow:

I also remember I used to encourage Him to do this by patting my Chest, But I havent done that for years !!

Just goes to show they never forget  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:

cats feet seem to weigh alot when they are stood on you dont you think!?? Why??

cos all their weight is carried within the small spread of their foot. Dogs and horses have the same effect. If the foot in question is carrying more than its quarter of weight (e.g. cat standing on hind legs only) then the effect is intensified ...

ive been trying to  get lucifer to make me a cup of tea for months. i keep asking and he just prrrrps at me...or maybe i ask so often he just thinks his name is tea!

not really unique but his snake on a stick thing from PAH is lucifers fav toy, he drags it upstairs to drop on my head in the mornings and leaves its head in his food bowl (well, i see his point, it does look abit skinny!)  :evillaugh:

and slightly    but sooooooo clever. if im cleaning or emptying lucifers litter tray when he wants a wee  :need loo: little monster squats over the plug hole in the bath! he seems to have perfect aim tho and if hes gonna wee somewhere other than his tray, top marks for consideration there!!.  :shify:

Meesha likes to open drawers and empty them!  She also plays 'fetch' with her foam balls, even asks to play by bringing a ball to me and dropping it at my feet!  :Luv:  Oh, and she brings me a leaf instead of a mouse - I think she has realised I often eat that funny green stuff!

The other two are fairly 'normal', although Shanti will try to play 'catch me if you can' when it's time to come in ... little demon!  She'll come in and out of the house all day long, and never goes far, but as soon as it's tea time she deliberately runs off to the other end of the garden, waiting for me to try to catch her!  I've got wise to it now, and just let her get on with it!  She's usually in within 5 minutes!  :sneaky:

I'm just glad they all come when they're called (notwithstanding Shanti's little game) and know the meaning of 'no'. :)

Binky could open the fridge & help himself to anything he fancied. We ended up having to keep a beer crate across the front to stop him. The last straw was the day I got home to find pate under the table and bread from the bread bin up the stairs - he never did get the hang of the toaster!

Lol! When I was little we had to have a child lock on the freezer as Tuppence kept opening the door and letting everything defrost!

Misty used to Open the Balcony door in my flat by jumping on the handle, but over time the Door got very stiff and He hasn't
done it for years (even I have to give it a shove to open it now)
Misty also used to have fun with one of his collars, I would throw it, and he would run after it flat out :wow: just like a dog he would
bring it back to me, and sit watching me till I threw it again :evillaugh: He also went through a phase of putting collar in my work boot's
if they were next to me at the time :evillaugh: :evillaugh: My Little retriever Cat ;D
I did find the collar a couple of week's ago and tried to see if I could get him to do it again, But he is over 16 Now and just look's at
me as if he's saying " Not Justnow.. Eh!!" or "what on earth are you trying to do, throwing the collar miles away from me ??"

Oh dangnabbit you've seen right through me Ruth  ;D

I prefer the term "exaggerating" as he has stood up on his back legs, made several successive miaows that could be interpreted as musical and had more than one toy mouse in the air at the same time but not necessarily all these things at the same time  ;D

Cheers

come to think of it Barry did once mention something about doing a Masters with the Open University  ;)

He also has another habit which is a bad one, he has before now on several occasions jumped on my car bonnet as I have been pulling up to my house travelling at 5-10mph. He's only done it in my car and has never done it to any friends or family. So Car Surfing is another one lol ;D

My oldest tom likes to jump on the side where he is nearly level with you and lean on your body wth his front paws so he's face to face. None of the others have ever done this, just him.

cats feet seem to weigh alot when they are stood on you dont you think!?? Why??

If for example he is outside in the street and he can see me in the window, if i do 'the claw' he flops on the floor, very funny when people are walking down the street and he just drops infront of them!

Made me laugh cos my Yagga does that too....  :Luv:

« Reply #1 on: October 31, 2007, 15:36:27 PM »
Basically there are a few things Barry does that I see as unique to him. Alot of the things he does are in actual fact not that unique.  ;)

So I was wondering, can anyones cat do something others can't/don't do???

When he was younger I used to wrestle with him using my hand opened up like a claw, now if I hold my hand out in Said position he flops on his side no matter what he is doing!!!

If for example he is outside in the street and he can see me in the window, if i do 'the claw' he flops on the floor, very funny when people are walking down the street and he just drops infront of them!
