The South in this image is composed of the South East, London, East, South West, East Midlands and West Midlands, with the North encompassing the rest.

Not according to their map which is as I would think of North/ South and clearly Manchester id in the North

I was born in Gateshead raised in Consett and have returned to Gateshead and Manchester to me and my friends is Midlands

Up here people believe this is where the north starts

Really? Being a foreigner these sayings escape me sometimes. I am sure I am like many, who whenever they hear "up north" they include Scotland in that. I did of course come to live in the UK, not England so I guess that's where my confusion must reign..

Edited to add: if the timings are right I might drive up for this meet.
